Also, a link to one of the earliest pro-life songs written about this (by Phil Keaggy.) Please click on the link to see the video. Thank you. Who Will Speak Out? Staying silent's not an option God ordained we be the voice Of the helpless, unborn children They're the ones without a choice Women fight for 'right to choose' But their poor babies have no say As to whether they'll deliver And they see the light of day We must speak the truth in love now Let the mothers know we care Help them see who lives inside them Needs a chance at what is fair Doing what we can to guide them Helping in those ways we can To protect this generation From the devil's murderous plan 1 1

New York passed the Reproductive Health Act, updating abortion law (to allow for full term abortions if the life of the mother is at risk.) Concerns among pro-lifers are that this (health of the mother) can be stretched to include mental and emotional issues in pregnancy. Iow, a broad definition of health could include stress and depression over the pregnancy. These, including suicidal thoughts could prompt a doctor to decide abortion is best. Personally Convicted... Ever since the (Including Full Term Abortion Bill in NY) passed into law on January 22nd, I've been deeply troubled within. God showed me that I'd been pushing the ugliness of the daily slaughter of the little ones out of my mind. It took this tragic law to wake me up. He personally convicted me to stop looking away and come forward on their behalf. He had me write this poem as one way to take a stand. Below is a link to a moving song about this by Phil Keaggy. Please give it a listen:

A friend and brother who is going through the same thing put it this way. "I've always known the intellectual and moral depravity of abortion but recently my heart emotionally has become like a flood. I weep deeply like nothing I've done before." This guy had been an EMT for many years eventually running a crew and had expressed how emotionless and cold the job had made him. And he wasn't one to be emotional before he took the job. I saw a segment of testimony from an abortion doctor this morning and my whole day has been heavy. You're not alone in this, silent no more. May God continue working in our hearts and convict the hearts of women who are pregnant to turn to His love and wing of protection for their ability to raise a child. And for the many who have had abortions to fall into the arms of a loving forgiving God who is calling on all peoples everywhere to repent. He has appointed a day in which His Son will judge the world, today is the day of salvation.

I thought it would be fitting if I also posted the words to this song which inspired my poem and this thread. So here are the lyrics to it: Little Ones by Phil Keaggy Who will speak up for the little ones? Helpless and half-abandoned. They've got the right to choose life they don't want to lose, I've got to speak up, won't you? Equal rights, equal time, for the unborn children. Their precious lives are on the line, How can we be rid of them? Passing laws, passing out Bills and new amendments. Pay the cost and turn about, And face the young defendants. Who will speak up for the little ones? Helpless and half-abandoned. They've got the right to choose life They don't want to lose, I've got to speak up, won't you? Many come and many go, Conceived but not delivered. The toll is astronomical, How can we be indifferent? Little hands, little feet, Tears for Him who made you. Should all on earth forsake you now, But He'll never forsake you. Who will speak up for the little ones? Helpless and half-abandoned. They've got the right to choose life They don't want to lose, I've got to speak up, won't you? Forming hearts, forming minds, Quenched before awakened, For so many deliberate crimes The earth will soon be shaken. Little hands, little feet, Tears for Him who made you. Should all on earth forsake you now, Yet He'll never forsake you. Who will speak up for the little ones? Helpless and half-abandoned. They've got the right to choose life They don't want to lose, I've got to speak up, won't you?
