Something I   learned from a video about depression. Sometimes  we  drive ourselves into despair and depression by looking at what others have that we dont or where they are that we arent. So thr less wectake our eyes off of others, the  hapoier we will be

Well,  Amen!   God's Word says the same thing -  not to compare with any covetousness or envy -also....

and more - look into the history of depression,  when it became epidemic (or started that direction) and why.

See how pellagra and other similar simple problems before 1950

became huge profit industry with all new and different names and methods after 1950's .

Maybe asking God to be in the drivers seat of their lives and having a true relationship with Him would help that.

 Sometimes  ?

The key is knowing when it is our desires that are affecting us and when it is someother problem.

There is a lot we can do to improve or maintain our mental health, but we also need to be willing to accept help and medication.

Denial of a problem  or of the need for medication always makes the illness worse and we need to recognise that depression is an illness not a rerason for making someone an outcast.

No sin is necessarily connected with sorrow of heart, for Jesus Christ our Lord once said, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death." There was no sin in Him, and consequently none in His deep depression.

Charles Spurgeon
