For those of you wondering how I am holding up in the recent passing of my mom...
It has been very difficult. She was my best friend and the last family member (from my past) to be in my life. This is a lonely time of adjustment. I am so thankful she is in Heaven and pain free, but I do feel a void where she once was.

Hope I'm not being too personal, turtle, but I have stored this little poem (know you like poems) from a little book of poems I have. I have sent it once before to a great friend who was grieving the loss of his loved one, and he told me it was just like he felt.
I hope it may grant you a small touch of
"It is well with my soul"
(I cried/sobbed  like a baby at my mom's burial)

Treasured Moments
by Ron Tranmer
I treasure every moment
you spent in life with me.
I hoped to have you longer,
but its not meant to be.
You left this world so suddenly.
I think my heart went too.
I feel so lost and lonely,
and I cry from missing you.
I know you're in a better place.
I know you're happy there.
I know one day I'll join you,
but the wait is hard to bear.
My heart feels like it's breaking
as I try to carry on.
You were my life, my everything,
but now sweetheart, you've gone.
I'll count the years until the time
I join you there above.
Where then we'll be, eternally,
together again my love.....

@Sower I am touched that you took the time to share this very special poem with me. It sure describes the way I feel. I read it aloud to my son with an emotion-filled voice.

Hearing how much you wept at your mom's burial, I know you can understand and empathize with my sorrow. Thanks, brother. May God bless you for your kindness. It is well with my soul.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Thank YOU, sister....

It is a beautiful thing to loose attachments to this world and have it placed in the world to come :) This is what I have learned in the loss of all but one of my family members here and now
