I had my legal name changed (personal preference).

I never knew until now how much Google owns me and all of my accounts.

I just need to time and change everything right so that financial, direct deposits aren't lost.

Anyone good on maybe helping me make this new transition?

Please and thank you.

Use Epic privacy browser and turn on the embedded VPN.

Subscribe to NORD-VPN (Swiss based i believe)

Get a protonmail account (free with Swiss encryption)

Do NOT use any cloud storage. Avoid goolag, microslop and go against the grain.

If you do any banking online you will have to verify each transaction by a text if you use the above.

Do no use face-ache or ANY social media. It may take a few years to expunge your 'footprints' but the idea is to make it more difficult to track you so the bad dudes will go for lower hanging fruit.

Make yourself an alias and keep your real details to yourself. It is a lot of work, so you 'new' ID can hide in plain site and not lead to any data breaches.

In spite of all these efforts, the gov (if they want to or need to) can crack any ID in time. But you can become less of a risk by adopting the above suggestions.

Whoa.

All that seems fairly intense.

I went ahead and posted a request over at UpWork and received an offer with their assistance.

I'm fairly sure that I can't do this on my own so I'll probably hire their services.

I'll mention your post to them, so thanks.  :)

Oh, it is very easy. If you pay someone you will never learn for yourself. That is mostly why people fall foul of data breaches. Just take it one step at a time. You will be able to do more than you believe right now.

LifeLock has worked very well for me.

Both LifeLock and American Express do a great job of tracking and reconciling  errant and/or criminal activity. I have had my own ID stolen and used many times now, but never have lost a dime because of it.

So I hired someone from UpWork since his credentials seemed quite good.

However, here's a small portion of his response as to what he would require of me.

Quote

How to proceed from here: I'll need some of your info to get started these name changes.

I believe I'll need your prior name
New legal name (and documentation of the change)
for checking account I may need your social security info/ account numbers
for the more minor changes I think ill mainly just need username and password info to the accounts, we'll see as I progress through them.

.........

If you would prefer to communicate in a different medium I am okay with that seeing as the upwork message system isn't the best. My email is : **********4@gmail.com

Messaging outside of UpWork means that any further communication can't be logged or reviewed by the company.

I should just run from this guy, yes?

Just DIY. The reason all has gone crazy is because we farm out stuff we are well capable of doing - then they OWN us...

There are a lot of websites that pull in personal information from public records and sources.

This PDF contains the top websites that contain your public information, and how to remove it, all in one place. Highly recommend:
