Honor given will lead to honor received. Simple words, but words filled with truth and power. In these days of darkness and confusion we find that the concept of honor is not held dear and followed as in days past. There was a time when children honored their parents as the fifth commandment instructs us. Once honor was given unto the elderly and unto the sick and the weak. Men honored their wives, and we honored our mothers and our fathers, and honor and respect was shown unto women and men who were our elders and the responses of children included the words, "Sir" and "Ma'am."  We, as a nation, used to honor our veterans and showed great respect unto those who served and defended us. We, as a nation, once honored our flag and all would stand when our flag was presented and our national anthem was sung. We, as a nation, once honored God and sought to walk in his ways and follow his commands. Honor given will lead to honor received, these are words of the Lord God and they are words that should guide us this day. If children will show honor unto their parents and unto all adults they will receive honor. If we show honor unto others, unto men, women, and children we shall receive honor, and if  we show honor unto God and Jesus, his Son, we shall receive honor. When you watch the evening news it is clear to see that in our nation there is a lack of respect for those who deserve our respect and a lack of honor bestowed upon those that we should honor.  Honor given will lead to honor received so let us honor those to whom honor is due.

Romans 13:7 "Render therefore to all their due: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor."
