One cannot divorce context and text. Well you can, but you should not.

Verse 7, "...only he who now lets, will let, till he be taken out of the way." must remain in the context of the preceding concepts. Every one of these preachers I hear talk about this verse do this, remove the context and convey a concept which does not and cannot exist.

Paul says the DOTL cannot come before the man of sin is revealed. The Coming and the Gathering and the DOTL are the same thing, so then the beast will rise and be revealed before Jesus comes to gather us to Him.

Verse 7, "...only he who now lets, will let, till he be taken out of the way." is an understandable but still incorrect rendering of the Greek.

Literally from the Greek this portion of text says, "...hold fast until he emerges from the middle."

Look it up, you'll see.
