If it is happiness you seek- buy a new car.If it’s joy you seek, rest in the finished work at the Cross and get that giant weight off your shoulders .The one that says “ Jesus saves ....B UT........."

NOTHING but the Blood—— you sing it,learn to live it.There lies joy.

From a biblical standpoint, do you believe there is a difference between joy and happiness? If you can provide verses to support your stance, please cite them. Thank you!

There is no difference.

Bible does not make any distinction between joy and happiness. I know lot of people say joy is permanent, happiness is temporary and on and on. But Bible simply does not teach that. And personally I don't think a person can be joyful and be not happy! May be there is a slightly different meaning to the words. But I think they co-exist.

Biblical references, ...too many to list, just read the Psalms of David.

Joy is from the Holy Spirit and is internal, it controls, calms and soothes our soul, it gives us an inner peace no matter what the circumstances might be, ...good or bad.

Happiness depends on our circumstances and can cause our soul to rejoice or be depressed.

But the true joy of the Lord is our strength Nem 8:10, ...no matter what the circumstance may cause, ...rejoicing or depression.

Lord bless

I think joy is a momentary thing, where you discover the blessing of your efforts. Happiness is a prolonged thing.

True Joy brings happiness and true happiness is Joy, both will be given in heaven.
