Hi everybody :)  just interested to learn what Sunday School is in your neck of the woods.

I ask this because after watching Bruce  Gore (American) lectures on Bible history, philosophy etc,he mentions at times his Sunday school classes and I soon realised these classes are made up of adults. (I'm pretty sure)...,

In Australia, I only know of "Sunday school" being made up of Church kids having a Bible lesson while the church congregation (adults) are listening to the sermon in the main part of the church building.

Whats your Sunday school look like???

I used to frequent a large assembly, where I was a "children's church teacher"for three years, and following this I was the 'children's ministry superintendent" for two years with a smaller local assembly. These pentecostal/charasmatic denominations disliked the term "sunday school". These "children's churchs" would run at the same time as the main service but some denominations have what they call "adult sunday school" which meets before the main service and typically is aimed at those who need a better knowledge of the Bible and the Christian faith.

I have watched a lot of Bruce Gore lectures on YouTube and enjoyed them apart from the preterism he espouses. It doesn't make sense and he fudges over some important details that negate his teachings in this respect.

Thanks Michael, that's interesting (the before church service Sunday school). In my area, that would usually be done in Bible study groups .

Talking about Bible study groups......

.......some women I know believe these groups should not be mixed groups, for the simple fact of studying the Word without distractions.

There definitely is a place for men's and women's groups. Typically the women meet in the morning when the men are working, but when I was doing shift work a couple who were unemployed began hosting a morning mixed group that was always followed by lunch, so that was an excellent opportunity for me to fellowship instead of the normal evening mixed group.
