This is all nonsense: John TELLS US that the great whore Babylon is the city of Jerusalem while the Beast is deceiving the entire world from that great city.

When John referred to Jerusalem allegorically, he used Sodom and Egypt, not Babylon (Rev 11:8).

Jerusalem may be guilty of righteous blood that was shed but in Babylon is found the blood of all who have been slain, including unrighteous (Rev 18:24).  Your perception of Babylon needs to be broadened.  Spiritual Babylon is the influence of evil angels on the human race.  The allegorical term Babylon used of a city refers to one that embodies such wickedness.

So you will use human reasoning to disagree with what John wrote?  He TOLD US that Babylon  - the Babylon HE was talking about - is "that great city." Why not then look in the SAME BOOK and see if He wrote more of a great city in Revelation?

What more proof do you need?  John knew exactly what he meant by "great city." It is where Jesus was crucified. 

 

Do you not understand that the greatest deception ever foisted upon human beings is going to come from Jerusalem during the last half of the week? It will FAR surpass what any cult has done. This will deceive the entire world! No wonder she is called "the great whore Babylon."

I've seen this as the US for a very long time. I see the people on the ships basically lamenting, "Now who's gonna buy all our stuff?" 

But I'm not married to that position. It's revelation, after all. And it is very much a restating of the old testament as well as a bit of 1 Enoch.
