Anyone gone to a passover seder?

Recommended Posts

I have never been to a Passover Seder. I am asking anyone who has done so to share about this. Could you describe what it is like and the spiritual significance you took away from it? Thanks.

Yes.

Might you enjoy viewing  Zola Levitt's presentation- it is a You Tube video " The Miracle Of Passover (2012), #1and part 2    Zola Levitt Presents

I have posted them  for approval under Christian Videos

It is the night of great sacrifice and salvation.

@Neighbor :) Excellent! I will make sure to do that. I have a friend coming over today. We were wondering what to watch tonight from a Messianic perspective. This is our answer to prayer. Thanks, neighbor.

Every few years our church celebrates a Messianic Seder.  It was a great blessing to me and enlarged my understanding of the Lord's Supper.  We were taught to speak the Hebrew responses, which for me was a tongue twister most challenging.  I am not accustomed to creating such guttural sound.  Otherwise it brought me closer to my Savior and understanding His culture.  Easter is no longer Easter to me.  It is Passover. the Feast of Unleavened Bread and First Fruits.

My family and I were invited to a Seder by an Israeli family 15 years ago. We haven't been in the same city since, but we're still in touch all these years later. They are not Christians (yet). Being so long ago, the things that stuck with me are listed.

To attend we had to be circumcised and as Americans we were. Exodus 12:48. For us, it was a five-hour event or series of events. It was from 7pm to midnight. I suspect it was condensed for our benefit as it was just the five of them and the five of us. It is rife with spiritual relevance that was lost on them. They read from a book (I assume the Hebrew scriptures) with a speed that was dizzying. I sensed it was extreme rote instead of learning from the experience and just checking off a list of items to do. Being they were Israeli, everything was in Hebrew until we needed to do something, then our host would translate instructions. They had a glass of wine for Elijah at the end of the table and they opened the front door to "let him in."

I've since learned a lot more, and I'd like to participate it with them again.
