Jesus did not come to call the righteous to repentance. A person who is well does not need a doctor.

Now of course some will want to quote "there is none righteous...no not one"....but thinking that means that there is no such thing as "the righteous"...which is taking the verse too far....since there is obviously many references in the bible in both testaments to the righteous.

So there is a contrast happening here...

Notice the difference between...

1 Pet. 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

and...

2 pet. 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The saints will rule over the saved righteous in the nations..from the New Jerusalem in the next age.

Our job is to love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves. Nothing less, nothing more, as near as I can tell.
