Hi Daniel....

I've had many conversations with JW's.

I never let them get beyond John 1:1. " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God"

Their translation reads...."And the Word was A God"

I then tell them that their whole translation has been changed to reflect on "A God"

All the verses that pertain to Jesus's deity have been altered to say something different, that He is not Deity.

Also, they now have God the Father, Jehova, creating a lesser God, Jesus, to do all His creating work.

You can go on and on with just this "a God" business. They get spun like a pretzel, and usually walk away. They say they will check on this, but you usually don't see them again. Yup, I've been blacklisted many times.

But the LORD will give us a mouth .    HE showed me timothy three sixteen .   guesss what ,  they forgot to take it out  of their new bibles .

WHEN I said this to a Jehovah ,     YALLL should have seen her response .   She was literally gasping ,  she could say nothing .

NOTHING .

NADA

Finally through a squeaky voice the ONLY thing she could say is , WELL if GOD wants us to KNOW THIS ,  HE WILL let our leaders KNOW IT .

IT was then and there , I KNEW their total trust was in men , NOT GOD .  JUST LIKE ROMES .  jUST like many actually .    She was so dead silent .

I pray and hope she truly received it .    I have never heard from her again .

Hi Daniel,

We had some visit us here on the farm. There were older ones and some teenagers. After we were all sitting down and got over the general chit chat I asked about their view of end times. They actually went to the book of Daniel and from there we had a very good discussion. I told them about the super powers of Dan. 7 and how they are all lining up today. The young ones were very interested but the older ones were out of their depth. Still I think I hit a nerve with the younger ones as they are more in tune with what is happening in their world.

So to me end-times is a topic I bring up but I eventually ask them about their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Marilyn.

Whenever they used to pay me a friendly visit , they were sweating bullets within 5 minutes. That is probably their typical reaction when they get the shock of seeing that they are dealing with somebody that knows the Bible. Some are very old and very sweet.....they have been deceived.....they need our prayers...

I agree we need to keep praying.

The weirdest thing I ever did when cultists came to my door was put them to work.

With Jehovah's Witnesses you can ask them what John 8:58 means if Jesus is a creation and not God.

Hi Daniel,

That God's "Holy Spirit" is called "Him" in John 16:7

and a "He" in John 16:8 of the NWT. Then I suggest

the NWT needs more revising to weed out these errors

That is interesting Ed and reminds me of

Acts 13:2 Good News Translation (GNT)

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, to do the work to which I have called them.”

The Holy Spirit uses the word ego, I the hallmark of person-hood.   It turns out they forgot to change that one too.   https://www.jw.org/en/publications/bible/study-bible/books/acts/13/

If the watchtower was really God's Channel on earth, God would have told them to change both.   smile

Hi Daniel,

I have marked Acts 13:2 now as well in my NWT! Thank you!

I have a funny story I would like to share with you.
My brother found a NWT blowing about in the street
It was all tattered, and I told my brother I would take it.
Well when I take it out and reference things written in it,
I have had the JW's remark: "it looks well read" ha ha ha...
Little do the know the real story. Thought I would share it with you

I don't talk to too many LDS. They kind of scare me, to  tell the truth

the JWs at least are not terribly scary LOL

but they believe there is no eternal hell and i find that illogical .. among other things. It makes no sense that people can do evil all their lives, never repent, die unrepentant and .. what? there is no "icky" place for them in the next life? they don't have to pay the consequences of their actions? no way. Tehy say you just die.. "hell is the common grave"  they say

right

then what did Jesus come to save us from? Why would he go through all that he went through if there no hell, which by the way, Jesus spoke of "eternal punishment" (sounds pretty Hell-like to me)

And you know.. God often makes no sense to us humans. So we can't just worship logic or anything.. However, on the other hand, God did give us a BRAIN and expects us to use it.. Said brain will fail when one is trying to comprehend certain things about God, but you know.. for the most part, well, put it this way: I have found from living the Word (to the best of my ability) that the Word is quite logical.. um... most of the time.. When I don't understand.. well, maybe i don't need to understand what all God is doing or thinking. :) I doubt we are judged by what we fully understand or not?
