I was wondering what online Bible commentaries you have found to be most accurate and helpful? Although the Bible speaks for itself, these can aid in giving valuable information such as historical background & similar scriptural references.

I don't know about a full desktop for I use an android galaxy tablet for study....   Bible Gateway has an app with about 50 translations and seven or eight different commentaries free...   two dictionairies and bible encyclopedia...

MySword app has a King James version among others that has the strongs numbers and links to the strongs definations…   that is always helpful.

What I use on the desktop is not an online thing...    BibleSoft makes a really good program for deep studies that is rather expensive...   After the tablet apps came out I doubt I would have spent the cash to buy that one even though it is really good.  It has 24 translations that are linked to several commentaries and Strong's and Vines along with several other things including maps...  I have had it for a long time...   it would probably cost over $500 to  buy now.

I like David Guzik from Blue Letter Bible.  To find exactly what you are looking for - oh, say, his commentary about the 10 Commandments - go to google and type in "Exodus 20 Guzik".  He gives the scripture first and then his comments.  I also like him because he quotes many others, too.  Especially Spurgeon.  It's like you get several commentaries from one source.  I occasionally disagree with him - but commentaries aren't scripture.  There are just good helping aids and his is good.

I also like Don Stewart from Blue Letter.  His is more of a questions and answer type.  Like if you wanted clearer understanding of baptism, the Apocrypha, speaking in tongues, or demons - just google "baptism blue letter".  I don't know how many commentative articles he has.  It may just be a few, I don't know.  He gives a lot of scripture.

I use e-sword X and the commentaries I find most helpful are Jamison-Faucet & Brown, and Barnes Notes.  Preacher's Homiletical  can also be helpful.  All are free on E-Sword.  Robertson's Word Pictures, and Vincent's Word Studies and also excellent study aids found there.  The Bible dictionaries I use are Strong, Thayer, Vine and Zodhiates Complete Word Study Dictionary of New Testament Words.
