I would like to be able to comment about this, having experienced something along these lines with a Christian based support group back in the well, never mind when! Could you give a few more details on it, please if you would? Thanks so much. God bless!

Shalom,

David/BeauJangles

Not having any idea what you mean, but seeing that it is something that bothers you:

  •  Go to the pastor and/or those treating you this way and ask them why.
  •   Pray before you go that you will say the right thing and that everything will be resolved.

I forgot to include this quote on my first post, but better late than never. Waiting for a response from Rose, I can only assume she possibly feels like an experiment, as she maybe a relatively new believer in Christ? If this is so, it may indicate certain programs from from the church itself, or outside sources are implemented. Just surmising, as we've so little to go on at this point. God bless!

Hi RarexxRose,

I would say put up boundaries when relating to people in a meeting situation. Also be careful of your expectations of others. A meeting run by a religious organisation is public, and as such is limited in what it can do. I would suggest you cultivate a friend or two and meet for coffee or a meal and get to know each other.

Marilyn.

Take a jog on the wheel to take my mind off it.

If I had to assume what you mean, it would be something along the lines of "it's like they're reading from a script"? There are books and manuals out there, which do attempt to explain how persuasion works and how to likewise persuade people to your viewpoint. However, I might expect this from just one person, not an entire congregation.

I think i'd buy into the idea of trying to connect with some of the people on a more private and personal level. Even if we don't realize it, people act differently around different people. It behind closed doors where you see more of the actual person. If the people still seem as though they're putting up fronts or being disingenuous, you could perhaps try looking into other churches.

Live a righteous life so you can look them all square in the eyes, and tell them what's on your mind, if you think that will help.
