I will just try to cut to the chase, and perhaps, or not, it will invite a more thorough discussion of the following points.

1st assumption is the sky is literally a glass firmament between earth and space.

2nd assumption is the waters above and below the firmament is not literally h2o, but is plasma, with an electric or electromagnetic charge

3rd assumption is if the firmament were the break, the electrical shock could destroy all life on earth.

And the evidence of the broken firmament: The Lybian Glass Fields.

You can look up the Lybian glass fields if you like, to see the glass that is colored like the dusk and dawn sky light at the horizon facing the sun.

I will check back later to see if any replies.

Cheers,

Spongy Iris

As you say assumptions. What is woprse asumptions that do not line up with facts.

There is no glass firament between earth and space. ditto the rest.

May I suggest you start reading answersingenesis and use the search function to read the many articles on the flood etc.

To Who me,

Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what you have come to believe about the Genesis.

Can you please advise? ...

What are the waters above and waters below?

Where did the earth get all this water to cover all the high hills?

I believe what the bible teaches.

That there was a global flood that destroyed life on earth, that it also destroyed the world, radically changing it.

As I advised you to research answersingenesis, but you won't, so follow these links for only a few of the many articles written by experts about the biblical flood and the effects on the earth.

The waters above the expanse were understood to be a water boundary to the created universe. The birds fly, not "in the expanse’, but "in the face of the expanse’-referring to the atmosphere of the Earth. "

Hello Who me,

It is nice to have conversations with people living in the now, rather than links pointing to a script.

If you want to take a literal position, that H2O covered all land on earth, for The Flood of Genesis, I see this as a position that violates the basics of the water cycle.

Water evaporates, and rises up, then, falls back down as rain.

Over and over.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Genesis says the windows of heaven (firmament) were opened.

Where did all the water go after the flood that enveloped all the world?

Was it lost in space?

Genesis 8:2-3  The fountains also of deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; and the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the water was abated. KJV

This verse seems to fit more with the interpretation I opened the thread with.

The open window of heaven was sealed.

Then the "waters" that were "continually" hitting the earth for 150 days stopped.

Then 40 days later it was safe to open a window in the "gopher wood ark", but the dove still couldn't land on the ground.

Then 7 days later the dove found an olive leaf, but came back to the ark.

Then 7 days later the dove left the ark for its freedom.

If you continue to believe that this flood really happened, and believe  it was literally H20 flooding the earth, where, in 54 days, did all this H2O covering all dry land evaporate off to?  Shouldn't evaporating water rising eventually condensate into clouds, and saturate, and fall back down to earth?

It does make sense to try and remain 'on topic'. Other wise it tends to get tangled in between.

It's easier to believe the Lord of creation can do anything possible.

I didn't know it was possible to change how water (H2O) cycle works in 204 and 54 days...

Matthew 19:26  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. KJV
