Israel did not give birth to Jesus. A single woman did.

When you make the woman a metaphor for a nation, but make her child a single man, you make a joke of the Scriptures. Anything can mean anything.

Either the woman is a collective spirit (for example, Israel), giving birth to another collective spirit (for example, the Church, or part of it) -- or else the woman is a single person, and her child is a single person. Make up your mind; you can't have it both ways.

The Messiah came from Israel. Take it or leave it. Will Satan go after Mary? WAKE UP! Satan will go after those who flee, and straight from the lips of Jesus Himself, it will be those in Judea who flee.  Let's see, those living in Israel today: Gentile or Jew? Jew, of course. Remember, this entire book is written from visions that were highly symbolic. I must give you some credit: the constellation has been known as VIRGO (the Virgin) perhaps since the days of Adam.  So a single woman DID give birth to Jesus, but SHE, the virgin, was a daughter of the tribe of Levi of Israel. Again, the Messiah came from Israel. Now, what is written? "SHE brought forth a man child." She being the virgin Mary who was a descendant of Jacob or Israel.

The male child has to a single man for how could "Israel" the nation be caught up? Of course it is Jesus. HE was caught up. Some people don't like the word used here for caught up.   OF COURSE we can have it both ways because it is the story of How Satan used King Herod to attempt to kill Jesus as a child.

Suppose YOU were to tell this story in as few words as possible, in a chapter about the Dragon.  The Dragon is mentioned 32 times - so make no mistake, this whole chapter is God introducing John to the dragon. But God Chose to show how the Dragon tried to murder the Messiah as a young child. How would YOU tell it? We have the entire life of Christ in one verse. That is not bad for brevity.  You also have to show Israel as where the messiah came from, and as those who will flee when they see the abomination. Who knows? Perhaps you can tell it better then God who gave the vision.

God had to identify "the woman" and chose to do it with the constellation Virgo with 12 stars for a crown, and the mention of the Sun and Moon, remembering Joseph's dream. Therefore the "woman" in this part of John's vision is to represent BOTH the virgin Mary AND the nation of which she was a part. It IS therefore "both ways."

It is symbolic for the birth of God's kingdom with Jesus enthroned as king.

Rev. 12:7-11 then reveals that this Manchild, a collective body, the elect-of-the-elect overcomers, will participate in the casting down of Satan and his angels out of heaven:

Exactly...Christ (Head) is preparing us right now...His Body on earth...soon a revealing of sorts will occur...the two witnesses are approved of by the Father...and the Holy Spirit...then...we unleash the righteous and holy image and likeness of God by the authority and power of the same...on the earth...

Christ the Son "Head & Body" is here now...if your apart of it...you already know that. If not...heres your call.

    ATTENTION: Tatwo

I am replying to your post made on October 13, 2022.

These are very complicated scriptures to explain and understand via communications other than a face to face discussion.  Keep in mind that much of Revelation is figurative/symbolic similar to many other scriptures throughout the other Bible books.  I have referenced other supporting scriptures for Revelation 12:1-5.  Getting a sense of these few scriptures may help clarify my last post that you have inquired about.  I put these in alphabetic order for easy referencing.  Some are figurative, supporting, fulfillments and so forth.  Compare: Genesis 3:15; Psalms 2:6-9; 110:1; Isaiah 26:17, 18; 54:1-8; Daniel 2:44; Galatians 4:19, 26 (Paul’s example); 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Hebrews 10:12; Revelation 1:13, 16; 19:15, 16.

Yes, this is a lot to digest, but contemplate and meditate on these scriptures and others that you may have more familiarity with.  I am sure that you will get a sense of beginning of the 5th chapter of Revelation.  My understanding was not immediate either.

Hi @tatwo We do indeed need to try to stick to what it actually revealed in Scripture...

Understanding who the “woman” refers to is helpful in identifying the “child.”

The woman and male child that John sees in heaven are not a literal.  They are signs, or symbols.-Revelation 1:1.

In some scriptures, women are represented as organizations “married” to inanimate things/beings.  In the Old Testament, Israel was spoken of as a wife of God. (Isaiah 54:5; Jeremiah 3:14, 20)   In the New Testament, the congregation of anointed Christians is spoken of as Christ’s bride. (Revelation 21:9-14)  The symbolic woman John sees is also symbolically married to someone, and she is about to give birth.  Later her child is “caught away to God and to his throne.” (Revelation 12:5)  God claims the child as his own.  Therefore, the woman that John sees is God’s symbolic wife.  Compare Galatians 4:19.

Centuries earlier, God had addressed this symbolic wife. (Isaiah 54:5, 13)  Jesus quoted this prophecy and showed that these sons were his faithful followers, who later formed the congregation of anointed Christians. (John 6:44, 45)  So these members, spoken of as God’s sons, are also children of God’s symbolic wife. (Romans 8:14)  The apostle Paul adds the final piece of information when he says: “The Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.” (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:26; Philippians 3:20)  The “woman” seen by John, then, is “the Jerusalem above.”

Since Paul spoke of her as “above,” and John sees her in heaven, she is clearly not an earthly city; neither is she the same as “New Jerusalem,” since that organization is the bride of Christ. (Revelation 21:2)  Notice that she is crowned with 12 stars.  The number 12 is associated with completeness in an organizational setting.  Hence, these 12 stars seem to indicate that she is an organizational arrangement in heaven, just as ancient Jerusalem was on earth.  Jerusalem above is Jehovah’s universal organization of spirit creatures that acts as his wife, both in serving him and in producing a symbolic offspring.

This offspring or “child” refers to the birth of God’s Messianic Kingdom (government) with Jesus ruling as a king.

The woman are all who flee from the face of Satan/the Antichrist (Revelation 12:6 & 14; Revelation 13:7), when he shows up standing and sitting in the hearts and minds of the people (Mark 13:14; 2 Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 13:4 & 8). He (the man child), is the resulting spiritual birth of those who flee after the 42 months/1260 days in the wilderness/the unknown. This is the resulting blessing on day 1335 (Daniel 12:12).

Woman = Israel encoded.

Rev, 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

CODE: Gen. 37:9 And he (Joseph) dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. (Add in Joseph and we get 12 stars, So, Jacob, Rachel and 12 stars = Israel)

5 And she brought forth a man(MALE no Man) child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron(Jesus, CASE CLOSED): and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Jesus sits at the Right hand of the Father).
