Someone once said, it is hard to soar with eagles when you are stuck in the chicken coop.

Our Lord Yeshua has put ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET, and as the righteous in Christ, we should feel this victory more than we do. We ought to be reigning with Him over all this 'stuff' but it seems that at times, the very brothers and sister that should come alongside and support us seem to be actually attacking us in our weakness.

this hit home

I have no friends. Part of it is that I don't want friends (Do ya think? I say to myself...) but part of it is that no one seems to be much like me.. I live by one set of rules, the world lives by another. So it seems there are no friends to be had by people like me.

The saying I heard was: hard to soar w/ eagles when u are stuck on the ground with turkeys

:)

Satan lost before he ever started and he knows it. That is why he seeks to take as many humans with him to his fate as he can.

the troubling thing is that he succeeds (loser that he is)

he succeeds because people WANT to hear lies.. lies sound better than truth. The longer I live the more I see that human beings resist truth, yours truly sometimes as well. But the thing about me is that when I see I am resisting an objective truth (bc I prefer my subjective truth...), well, I take a good look @ that.. and --- not saying I always do so well discarding bad, un-true thoughts, bc I am human.. but ..Hey, I think God knows that..

Do ya think? I say to myself..

yes, I tell myself, there will be justice. God bides his time. I hear he gives the unrepentant a sort-of paradise on Earth bc he knows it is the only paradise they will ever know. So we have to just let God do things in his own time..

He succeeds because we (as Believers) give him permission in our lives, our minds and in our hearts. Without that he has zero authority over us. Read the book of Job. Satan had to ask permission of G_d to try Job and even then G_d set limits on what Satan was allowed to touch.

funny you bring up the story of Job. I have been meditating on that book of late. And yeh, I have known for some time now that he has to ask permission to attack us, but that is something I know in my head, not so well in my messed up heart ("The heart is deceitful above all and desperately wicked" says the Word...)

when I am in the depths of some suffering or another (have had so many..), I think of Jesus and all the sufferings he went through.. That is another way the devil loses, when we think on such things as Jesus on the Cross... We are always there w/ Him because we always have sufferings.. and He is the only one who understands...

i often feel that way. I remember once I was around this person who just exuded evil. I prayed and prayed (was not able to get away at that particular moment) but the feeling of evil persisted. It dissipated but persisted.

do you go through this often? just wondering how common it may be

For a start we live in a fallen world populated by unregenerate and wicked individuals that collectively comprise the sinful sea of humanity.

The body of Christ is comprised of those whom God has made holy through the blood of the Lamb and as long as we stay focussed on the salvation, reconciliation, sanctification, and hope that we have in Christ, Satan has no opportunity to overcome us. Sure there are trials, tribulations, and chastisements for the follower of Christ to go through but in Christ we always triumph.

  New Life in Christ
26“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.…

Overcoming the World
3For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, 4because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. 5Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.…

He didn't or hasn't with me....   and I interfaced with him and his brood for about ten years....  God snatched me right out of his hand and has saved my life at least three times since then...  I guess we won't know till it's over, but so far he hasn't won out with me....     and I personally don't think he has with our nation either.

We have the family involved in much of our government working Jesus into all facets of our country.   Wouldn't say they have won, but they do have a serious input into the things happening.....    Donald Trump is part of what they are doing and we'll just have to wait and see how much the Lord helps them out...   There is a lot of evil in Washington DC, but we have people there too.

oh my goodness. I certainly did not mean to say or imply that the devil wins as in: makes people sin! No, no one can make you sin but YOU (although sometimes it seems that.. but I won't digress)

no, the devil cannot make you sin, but he can "re-arrange" things in your life so to say.. to get you to think "off" stuff like "God does not care about me at all" I have had that thought throughout my life and if you knew my life, you would understand why.

I am thankful you are working to get Jesus into society more :)

After reading these three pages,

I conclude, that we are all given test of faith everyday,  and how we handle them determines what virtue we have gained in Christ Jesus and what we still have to learn and conquer through.

Gods Word tells us about the devil what his purpose is : steal, kill, destroy and the time he has to do it in. look to: John 10:10

God also gave us His Word to learn from and begin a daily relationship with , so that we can be equipped to fight the good fight of faith and become able through Him to overcomes the viles of the devil.  look to: Ephesians chp 6

Now the devil comes in many forms, but he also can work through people.  (Christians and unchristians) but Christians have been given His Word to learn how to overcome the viles of the devil with His help.

I hear christian like to blame other non christian or mentions that other Christians are not true Christians, when in reality, everyone, christian or no christian has good and bad in them. For the Christian, God can help transform them if only He is sought on a daily basis, for protection and also for help to overcome our own  shortcomings/sin.   Sin in us that needs to be overcome in and through Christ Jesus, can be our temper, our lack of patience, our lack in understanding, our lack of love for one another including those we perceive as our enemies, but we are to have an active part to play in our relationship with Christ Jesus in order to overcome and gain more of His virtue.

In the bible, Gods Word, Christ Jesus says  in Luke chapter 6 :

17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

( how many christians really practice this???)

28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

3Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Galatians 5

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes the yokes of sin bondage take time before God can help us to remove them from us. It usually is through our own stubbornness, pride/unwillingness to fully let go of them and begin being willing to ask God and let God lead us out of them, that He can truly deliver us from them, Amen!

We humans, become perfected in and through Him, working in us, as we begin to follow Him and develop a sincere daily relationship with Him, we pray/ dialogue with Him, of our needs, of our sins that what see -or don't yet see- of those sin-low satan standards- that still need to be overcome, by asking Him to help us overcome them, asking Him what we are called to do for His glory and asking Him to help, show us how better to live daily for Him and in Him.

His promises is that He will help us , to heal, to overcome, and become more and more free from the chains of the enemy and more and more the child of God He always intended for us to be=born of His Spirit.

How much we place our trust and belief/faith, faithfulness in Him makes all the difference as to how we allow Him to be able to help us.

He cannot help us if we resist Him and choose to follow satan.

Just as when we turn to God and His Word , He will help us to resist the devil  and the devil will flee

From our relationship with Christ Jesus we grow.  Through Christ Jesus help we can overcome the devils in us, (His Words says so) yes the devils of temper, impatience, unforgiveness, drunkenness, pornography, gambling smoking, all addictions, idle worship- revelrie... Galatians 5:

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

... Galatians ch5 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

We may never be able to change another person to Christ, even though we share the good news of Gods plan of Mercy and Grace through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus His , but we can change ourselves over to a  living working relationship with and in Christ and His Word.   We may never find someone exactly like us or our mind set exactly , however we all can find fellowship with one another in Christ Jesus and become shinning examples of His Word, His Love working in us.

Somebody mentions in this thread , that nobody is like them,  well we may never find anyone like us,  but that should not stop us from becoming shinings light unto this dark world, whatever lot we are given to live. When God is living in us, He will give us the hope , the joy and courage to persevere and overcome and keep seeking Christ Jesus to overcome until we return home to be with Him.

Yes I trust and have faith in His Word that with Him we can be overcomes over satans low standards meant to steal, kill and destroy.

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it

Sometimes when we can show a little love towards something that appears unloving, we can break the walls the person we assume is an unloving person, and even if the person remains unloving, unchristian, we as Christians are still called to show love despite the unloving persons.

There are many kinds of trials and test of faith we christian like non christian go through.

But for the true Christian it is how we handle the trials and test of faith that determine what virtue we have gained/learned in and through Christ Jesus  or how far ( how many more test of faith) we still have to go through to learn more how to receive a particular gained virtue from and through Him.

Virtue that is not tested is not true virtue.

Everyday we are given new test of faith that test our levels of virtue or lack of virtue within.

When one virtue from God is learnt and understood in our spirit, we move forward, onward, on to the next and so on and so on, thus becoming more and more His little children. So that the sins that once kept us in chains become through Him and His help, become more foreign to us, more and more as we grow in Him.

Sometime we fail being a shinning light because of our own flesh/sin taking control over our spirit.  But Praise God, when we begin to recognize it within us, we can ask Him to forgive us and help us overcome our shortcomings, where we failed, and His Word promises that He is just to forgive us and keep helping us to overcome.

The Bord from the devil working in another persons eyes, only God can remove.  We as Christians can only lovingly point the directives of Word of God to others, but it is up to that person to seek God him/herself, for him/her to find their own salvation=(ways to overcome sin in their own lives, and remove the speck from their own eyes ,  So that Christ light is what is shinning through more and more and being revealed withing each one of us.
