TODAY I listened to a testimony on youtube. Basically the lady had previously had a very sinful life involving  being in pornograhpy and prostitution.

SINCE she gave her life to Christ, she says that demons have been attacking her through her dreams. She said that this is something of a sign of a true walk with God, and implied that a lack of such attacks suggests that a person may not be truly saved.

I found this very disheartening. I don't want these attacks. While I went through a period of having nightmares about going to Hell about 15 years ago, and this brought me closer to my original Catholic faith, I only feel like I was properly saved two months ago and nothing like this has happened since (thankfully). In fact I have been sleeping more peacefully than ever.

Is this because my walk with Christ has been vey gradual, or am I really not saved? I read my Bible every night, pray constantly, have given up alcohol and am working on the other sins that I have asked God to convict me of, as well as going to a new church.

What do you all think? Is an absence of spiritual attacks a sign that you arent saved?

Of course not. But they can still happen. Demons as well as angels are just as real today as they were in biblical times.

I definitely believe it can happen but if it doesn't happen to a particular person, does that mean they aren't a strong enough Christian?

In answer to both questions, no. The kinds of attacks you've described are usually an indication of occultism some time in the past. Not in every case however, but most often they are. Rejoice and be glad you're not experiencing demons troubling you in your sleep. God bless.

Shalom,

David/BeauJangles

Hmmm. I dabbled in the occult in the past, years ago, but repented. Am hoping it wont come back to haunt me.

No, that's not true.  Spiritual attack is no indication of salvation or how successful you are in your walk.

I speak with the experience of having worked for a few years in a Spiritual Warfare based ministry.

Spiritual attack usually comes because there is a stronghold in your life, allowing the spirit to take advantage.  It can even come by direction of Yahweh it seems (see King Saul and the prophets of Ahab).  Spiritual attack can also come about if you are dramatically confronting or upsetting the kingdom of Satan.

However, for a Christian who lives their life according to the Word, and are not called for spiritual warfare, they needn't worry about demon attacks.

Look at it this way, if a demonic spirit is to attack a Christian, they are endangering themselves further than they already are.  You are a child of of the Most High God.  So, to mess with you is to mess with Him, and He doesn't take kindly to this.  Therefore, if you are walking correctly, you have nothing to fear.

The true sign that you are walking correctly is noticing the fruit of the Holy Spirit in yourself - love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  If this fruit is evident in your mind and life, you are walking correctly, with or without the attacks.

Love & Shalom

All a demon can do to a Believer is throw darts.Darts will not penetrate Armor. That is why Paul tells us to put on “ The Whole Armor Of Christ” in the Book of Ephesians .We are no match for Satan, but thankfully— “ greater is He that is in us than he who is in the World” Tell Any imp Of  Satan  the same thing the angel Michael told Satan—- “ May the Lord rebuke you!” That will get the job done!

If an unbeliever comes to God Satan does not like that. He no longer has that person. Who is stronger in this situation? God or Satan? Satan wants to bully that person to turn away from God. How do we handle bullies? We ignore them. We stay on a steady path with God.

Not everyone will experience spiritual attacks. I was saved before i experienced this, it occurs through witch doctor curses mainly. If you dont no worries, remain in faith.
