So many blame themselves or feel that the person who left them doesn't love them anymore. They are victims. Great care also must be taken when there is a new mother or father for them to adjust to. It is not too uncommon for the new spouse to be abusive to the children. Great care must be taken to believe what they tell you. Otherwise, we are also told that if you are a believer and your spouse is not, and they don't want to live with you, you should let them go peaceably. Another place lists desertion as a valid reason for divorce. The innocent person in all cases is allowed to remarry because the other person had broken the vows.
