From Yahuweh (God) the Creator, Sheer grace, undeserved and unmerited. All those things so far named and un-named that people highly esteem, Paul pointed out were less than nothing in his life, even things he was trained in and disciplined in were not counted as any advantage at all - more like a hindrance "of the flesh" ! All that counts is the resurrection life, the new life, the new creation in Christ Jesus. 1

Yet I have to agree that without God's grace he would have still been persecuting Christians. 1

That the Savior of the world called/chose Saul, a persecutor of Christians, is true grace! ….and because he was chosen, Paul would, till the end of his days, serve and follow his dear Savior. Indeed, Paul would forever press on and on and on—to know Him. Acts 9 9 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” Brilliant, insightful post. A subject nobody discusses.Only those that “ know Him” know the value of what you are saying .I prefer it over gold, fame, health—— anything! It is the ultimate “ high” , to put it crudely. It is joy and peace and mainly, awe.May everyone here be blessed to “ know “ Him.

Scripture answers this fully, for all people, not just him. 1
