Be submissive to one another.1 Peter 5:5

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”.

1 Peter 5:6-7

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Mark 8:35

35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Matthew 23:11-12

11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

In this world we are called to be different ,we have to stand up for Jesus and do what He tells us to do.

Amos 3:3

3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

Nehemiah 4:6

6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.

Acts 4:32

32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

Psalm 133:1

133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Isaiah 61:3

3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Ephesians 4:22-24

22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 5:21

21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Matthew 23:11-12

11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Luke 22:25-27

25 And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ 26 But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. 27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.

Philippians 2:3-7

3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Submission is authority. Wives are to be submissive to their husband. Young men are to be submissive to their  elders. Christians are to submit to one another.

Humility is submissive.  It is honoring others as well and looking up to and valuing others.  Pride would oppose others for the sake of argument.  Pride fosters a rebellious self serving spirit.

 Ummmm. @angels4u I know you already posted this scripture... But I noticed various versions added sorta different takes on it. So I posted some of the others. As you see, :b:I just couldn't decide...

I figured I'd let the readers sift through these and choose their favorite.

It appears I went a tad bit 'post-happy.':sneaking: oopsy. LOL

Philippians 2:3

King James 2000 Bible
Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

New International Version
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves

New Living Translation
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

English Standard Version
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Berean Bible
Do nothing out of selfish-interest or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.

New American Standard Bible
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

Christian Standard Bible
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.

Contemporary English Version
Don't be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves.

Good News Translation
Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.

International Standard Version
Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves.

NET Bible
Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.

New Heart English Bible
Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself

GOD'S WORD® Translation
Don't act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves.

New American Standard 1977
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
And you should not do anything with contention or empty glory, but in humility of mind, let every person esteem his neighbor as better than himself.

Do nothing through contention - Which is inconsistent with your thinking the same thing. Or vainglory - Desire of praise, which is directly opposite to the love of God. But esteem each the others better than themselves - (For every one knows more evil of himself than he can of another) Which is a glorious fruit of the Spirit, and an admirable help to your continuing of one soul.

No party spirit or striving for human praise. In lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Instead of exalting himself, each is to exalt others in his esteem. He that is willing to serve is greatest. Remember the model our Lord left for us by washing His disciples feet.
