Unbelievers are not children of God, according to John 1. However, despite their unbelief, and even their mockery, only the Lord knows if they will ever be saved.

We are to witness and be ready to provide answers for what we believe. It is the Lord, not us, who saves them, and it is the Lord, not us, who can open their hearts.

There are times we are to shake the dust off and move on with them. Each should follow the leading of the Lord on that.

Hi Thomas,

What sort of things across a spectrum of intentions do you think atheists hope to achieve by posting on a designated Christian forum?

I post on liberal political forums and also post on CNN youtube videos. I like to engage the enemy, to expose them to the lurkers and maybe even change some of those within the enemy camps, which has happened.

It may be why some atheists are here. Fortunately their MO is to be not very persuasive with their attitude. One thing's for sure: Many of them have more bible knowledge than a lot of believers. This can be used to damage or destroy a believer's faith as they are exposed to the roots of the bible (which are more questionable than they think) from an enemy. Those versed in the subtle challenges to the authority of the bible are immune to such attacks. Those that only read the bible are not so immune.

I am confused.  If every unbeliever is of Satan, you  can judge that an atheist serves the devil and MissMuffet is right.

All unbelievers are of Satan at the moment, but we don't know God's will if the unsaved  will get to know the Lord before he/she dies.. :) So  how can you judge a person? Are we to judge...?

Matth. 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Yes, and Satan also has more biblical knowledge than we do. He needs that.

Matth. 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

The Bible does not say that we can not judge. We are not to judge hypocritically.

they also bring up subjects that we don't al agree on and push us into arguing amongst ourselves instead of dealing with them...

I've been here for some time now and can tell you that they have come here unbelieving and stirring up trouble and were turned into believers....    but I have seen them hurt new Christians by bringing up the things we don't all agree on and it is, that, that we need to not have happen.    I think George has done a good job of separating things where that doesn't easily happen.

Actually Worthy is not a safe place for an atheist if they are trying to stay that way.

Matthew 7:1 One of the most misinterpreted and misapplied verses in the bible. Other verses speak to judging such as John 7:24.

John 7:24 Do not judge according to sight, but judge righteous judgment.

Only God will know who will be saved,it's never too late to accept Jesus and yes,in the present state of unbelieve that person is not of God and therefore serving the enemy and not saved.

Yep. We need the shield as well as the sword.

A well prepared atheist can logically win debates against Christians all day.  They study the Bible to seek out logical inconsistencies, plausible interpretations, and arguments which cannot easily be debunked. They task themselves with knowing Scripture so they can oppose it. They want to pull the discussion into the arena of intellect, human wisdom, and worldly moral values. Paul learned this lesson at Mars Hill, and he told us repeatedly that the gospel is spiritual power which is foolishness to the wisdom of the world. Saying you are not afraid of losing a logical debate with an atheist is kind of like saying you are not afraid to show colors to a blind man.
