Well some people believe that He only died for some, this doesn't seem to go with 1 John 2:2. I'm learning and I'm leaning towards that He died for everyone. John 3:16-17 would agree with you, as do I. Since God sent Jesus to die for the whole world, that statement alone does not exclude anyone. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Guest
Christ died for everyone. Only a few will accept His death as payment for their sins.

I'd never heard of limited atonement till now (thank you, Wikipedia), but some people make no effort to repent of their sin and they manage to destroy their lives, despite the Lord's attempt to save them.

IT is very evident that limited atonement is false doctrine.  However, if they believe it they will say it means all men who were chosen and predestined by God or the whole word means only the chosen.  They can be worse than the Catholic church in twisting Scriptures to support their view.

It is all and I mean ALL baloney. Wrong, and a terrible insult to our Wonderful Lord God. So these 'some-bodies' that say this are sadly in error and mislead many. They have for centuries. It is SO SAD. Edited July 17, 2019 by Justin Adams
