Just sharing that my area has an excessive heat wave coming for Friday and Saturday.  Heat index expected to be 105 to 112.  I am not a hot weather person! So this maybe the end of me.

It has been nice knowing you, Sister. I’m sure where you are going will be much cooler. ?

It was so hot on the golf course today, I was putting on the 18th hole and the water from my cap was dripping like a faucet.

Yeah, but you guys got that “ dry” heat......let’s turn that humidity up to about 90% and watch them drop like flies....lol.....

It's not that hot if its dry heat. Try 90 with 90 per cent humidity.

I have, when I was near the equator in the caribbean. I have also when I lived on long island about half a mile from the shore. I prefer humid. I can breathe

Keeping cool with dry heat is a myth. Dry heat sucks all the moisture out of you. And it only marginally works if you sweat, which I dont.

Dry heat at 112 and a dew point of 49 (mondays weather) still felt very hot --- 109, according to the national weather service calculator. What wind there was felt like a hot blast out of the oven.

But Im more used to the heat than you are. As a delicate desert flower, your winter temps terrify me lol.

Same here. We get our long and dreary days of dry and arid, to swampy and sultry. Not too much fun.

I was just looking at my local news, and the weatherperson wrote this ...

So, it’s up to you to decide. Would you prefer 89 degrees with 60 percent humidity and a “feels like” temperature of 102 like it is in Chicago today? Or 115 degrees with 8 percent humidity and a “feels like” temperature of 108 like we had yesterday?

I do tend to feel better in the monsoon, when temps are still hot, 105-110, and humidity is higher, than I do when the temps are 115 or so and lower humidity. But thats just me.
