We should should sing. I’ll start Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see. Sing it!

to some it may very well be, their conscious to God and their own purity thing.   i do not see tea or coffee killing people tho.  decaf uses a chemical to remove caffeine that causes cancer, but thats probably not addictive.

personally i do not see tea or coffee, and for that matter chocolate which contains caffeine as a sin.  if i know someone thinks it is or like say if they are on a diet and they cut out sugar completely, i wont drink it in front of them so they are not tempted.  even if they start drinking unsweet tea, i wont touch it in front of them.

there is a member of this forum that kinda opened my eyes to this.  I had asked them if chocolate was a sin trying to prove a point that caffeine isnt that bad.  i had to shut my mouth when i concluded, to some it is.

Sorry,I can’t see that drinking coffee or tea is a sin, anything that you put above God is sin.

People who do any of these drugs which is alcohol, nicotine or caffeine are usually in denial and do not think they are a sinner or will harm their body but they are wrong. They will usually not admit that they are addicting but that is wrong as well. It is that caffeine is a more socially acceptable drug.Just tell someone to stop consuming their caffeine and then ask them what happened

Caffeine- Stimulant

Nicotine- Stimulant and a depressant

Alcohol- Depressant

Great post brother except.....why do you believe smoking is a sin?

Is it because the body is a Temple for the HS to dwell. Is that it? Other? Thanks

Yes, consuming any one of the three drugs is a sin because the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

I agree. Everyone is a sinner that’s why Jesus came. I’m going to quit this sin because it bothers people around me. Just because I quit this one doesn’t mean I’m sinless. I’ve got many I think ☹️

Good for you. It is good if a person has never started in the first place.

"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." - 1 Cor 6:12

I think Paul explained all that pretty well. There are things that the Bible does not mention, like caffeine and nicotine, but alcohol is mentioned - but not condemned. Drunkenness is roundly condemned. Whether caffeine and nicotine are sin or not is between the individual and God - if He wants someone to stop, they'll stop. I'm not the Holy Spirit (that position has been filled for some time, I hear,) so I'll leave all that in His capable hands.
