God doesn't speak to us with an audible voice. There are other ways we hear God's voice.

A primary way we hear God's voice is through reading the Bible.

We hear God's voice through other Christians who gives us sound advise.

We hear God's voice when we pray and ask for wisdom.

We hear God's voice from our circumstances. The Holy Spirit guides and directs our path and we can feel that.

Once, and only once, have I heard the voice of God, literally.  He said "I Am Alive" just as clear as any other voice, so I wouldn't ever say God does not speak to us in an audible voice.

Most of my direction comes through the Holy Spirit, which will not go against scripture.

It would be very, very rare for a person to hear an audible voice from God. I am not saying it never happens but chances are it is doubtful.

God has spoken to me in His still small voice within me.  It doesn't sound like my own, but it is calm, distinct, loving yet authoritative, and it gives me peace.  It never contradicts Scripture.  He most often speaks to me through Scripture.

Poor choice of words "doubtful".  Very improbable I would agree, but doubtful?  You can be assured that if I had any doubt for the reality of what happened to me, I would not be making it public.  It happened.  If you choose to not believe me, there is nothing I can do about that.  Your doubt does not change the fact that it did.

As MissMuffet has said, by listening.

One listens by reading the bible, by praying about passages/verses that strike you, by hearing sermons, talking to other Christians about spiritual matters and by thinking about what the bible says/sermon contents etc.

Romans 12:1+2 says have bible biased brains to better believe the bible/God.

or as an old puritan once said,"If you want extra ordinary experiences of God, enlarge your ordinary devoutions." ie spend more time in the bible and in prayer.

Warning:-                      There is NO easy way.
