When God spoke and declared that the silver and gold are his, He is in fact asserting his sovereignty and title to the earth's resources as the creator and owner of all there is. God also declared in Psalm 50:10, "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills." David also declared of God in Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." These few verses teach that we are not the true owners of all the resources of this earth but that we only hold these things because of the grace of God.
