And, we are the New Testament church. This is how they received the Holy Ghost and this is how WE receive the Holy Ghost. The only difference is that we (today's church) have so many denominations which all teach different doctrines that the TRUTH has become watered down. One example is that some teach water baptism is not even necessary, but let's open the Word of God and find this out... Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Romans 6 3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: A popular saying among denominationalists today is, "Baptism is an outward sign of an inward work." In light of the scriptures listed above, this could not be further from the truth. Thanks for your post, God bless!

Paul even said that he wasn't sent to baptize but to preach the gospel. When Christ is Lord of a person's life, He will lead them to take this step of obedience in His timing. The Word of God shows examples of believers being filled with the Holy Ghost, before or after water baptism, but repentance must always comes first. And, in Preaching Jesus, water baptism is preached... Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. Acts 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Thanks so much, God bless!
