But I suspect you mean the 'advocate' the one who speaks for you, to defend you. That is the Holy Spirit who if you are listening/aware will promte you and help you get through your crisis. Basicly any thing that seeks to move you away from God is the adversarys work and anything that moves you closer to God is the advocates work. Don't be in a hurry to label experiences just because they are unpleasent does not automaticly mean they are of the devil. Ever heard of stress testing?
