Hello!

I am TERRIFIED I committed the unforgivable sin.

When I was reading about it in the Bible, I have OCD, so my mind decided to be mean. I was so scared, so I called my dad and told him exactly what my mind said about the Holy Spirit. I hadn’t realized that itself would send me to hell...did it? I can’t tell. I don’t know what to do. I AM SO SCARED. I had NO IDEA. WHY DID I NOT KNOW?!

Rule # 1 If you committed the unforgivable sin, you simply would not care. You would be a dead man walking. No care at all. So the fact that you are afraid shows that you have not done it

Your sin is forgivable so repent and move on soldier

The unforgivable sin according to the bible is ascribing the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit to Satan with the express intent to lie. This is what the pharisees did in regard to Jesus

Matthew 12:

22 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. 23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”

24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.  He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

The Unpardonable Sin

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men,but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

OCD is the doubting disorder. You can not trust your thoughts and your emotions. You have asked Jesus Christ into your life to be your Lord and Savior? Rest in that. You are saved. Rest in Jesus and pray to give you an inner peace.

It's most unlikely that you have committed it. All backsliding is recoverable because you can still repent. The fact that you feel that way shows that you have not committed it.

There is a difference between backsliding and apostasy. Backsliding is recoverable but you can get to the point of no return where you lose your ability to repent and will fall into apostasy.

Willfully continuing to sin and drawing back to perdition

This does not just happen. You have to make a deliberate decision to deny your faith in Jesus. One who wilfully denies his faith in Christ is guilty of a 3 fold crime: (Hebrews 10:29).

·         Trampling underfoot the Son of God.

·         Desecrating the blood of the new covenant after experiencing its sanctifying power

·         Insulting the Spirit of grace: compare this with Mathew 12:31-32, Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven because there remains no more sacrifice for sins.

I think we all wonder if we've committed that sin. Apologize to the Lord.

Shalom @lattelily

Suppose you have two children - Sam & Tim.  You instruct them to behave whilst you are away and to not be rude to the babysitter.   Whilst away, you watch a live CCTV of your home to observe the children.  Sam was paranoid about being rude to the babysitter and, in panic, even said things irrationally whilst trying to fight the urge to misbehave.  However, Sam was very saddened in her heart that she had unintentionally misbehaved and sat worrying in her room that she upset you, terrified at what you might say.  Whereas Tim was rude to the babysitter, and felt no remorse whatsoever - thinking he was safely removed from your sight.  He proudly stood by his actions and words without fear for your words.

When you return home, which one do you discipline?  Would you punish Sam like you would Tim?

Yahweh is not unreasonable, nor is he jumping at the chance to catch you out!  He understands things in context and He understands the heart.

Our flesh can be excited to sin and rush to disobey Yahweh at the first chance it gets.  But the key issue is the heart.  If your heart wilfully sins and and blasphemes, then you are in trouble - but in such scenarios you wouldn't be scared but oblivious.  So don't get convinced by the foolish acts and desires of the flesh.  Trust in Yahweh.  If when I, a mere man, read your message empathetically and in context, how much more the all loving and merciful God?

"We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.  I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.  As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;  but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin." ~ Romans 7:14-25

Love & Shalom

Jesus said you can do different things but if you do the unforgivable sin, it's over!

The Bible is clear that the ONLY way to miss Heaven is to reject Jesus for salvation.

The unforgivable sin = not trusting Jesus for salvation.

I wish you wouldn't be. People who are most frightened by committing the unpardonable sin, are the least likely to commit it, in my personal experience. Hope you get past this bondage of fear.

2 Timothy 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  KJV

There are some scary things in the bible and this is one of them.

The good news is that if you are a Christian and are frightened of commiting this sin.

Take heart because you haven't committed it.

The unforgivable sin is to reject Jesus as Saviour.

Note, The God who formed you, also planned your salvation before he created the universe. He knows all about your OCD, how it affects you, what it makes you do.

He still loves you to go and die a disgusting death to save you. He is not going to let a few thoughts, that you regret, separet you from him.

As Paul in Romans 8 wrote 'there is Nothing in All creation that can separate you from the Love of Jesus.'
