Several adult themed discussions were started in the adults only part of this forum.

Folks either don't remember the area is there, or they shy away from it. Certainly not for

reasons of indulgence they may have to refrain from. LOL

That was mean.

Here lately I am confronted often with the question who's to say what is acceptable behavior? speech? dress? ogling?

interaction with the opposite sex?

Talk about an exercise in relativity... the most telling is, however, the behavior of Christians when they are in or near  a

Church building as opposed to at home watching the game when a bad call is made by the officials.

Or being out with the girls. (During a brief stint as a limo driver in Southern California, I did one and only one girl's night out...  til 2AM.   I thought guys were bad...)

Or watching the girls being out together.

Who's to say?

Frank Peretti once did a series called "The Chair." ← I highly recommend it.

It's point is there is no moral anchor on which to base anything other than the Word of God.

All else falls under the category of fads, popular opinion, desensitization, relativism... etc.

God is to say.

But, who listens to God?

It's all been forgiven, but  recorded in His "books", waiting for the face to face..........

“I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works” (Revelation 20:12).

“Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).

“I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36).

“Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him
for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name”
(Malachi 3:16).

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” (Hebrews 6:10).

Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matthew 6:20).

If a person keeps their mind and eyes focused on God they won't wonder into this world's garbage dump.

Good point.

And there are times when that is possible.

Do you believe it is possible to do this all of the time?

Possible. But not very fun. People want to enjoy life. That is how God made us. Lighten up Francis.

I see what you are saying.

But the judgment of believers took place on the cross.

There appears to be a judgment for reward for what was done after coming to Christ in faith.

Even if we do nothing after that but sin... 1 Corinthians 5:5 speaks of being secure in salvation and:

1 Corinthians 3:12–15 (AV)
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Well said, JohnD. The problem is set to escalate until eventually the restraining of alternative morality will cease. Fortunately the genuine body of Christ will not be compromised, and its members will continue to uphold the Word of God in the face of opposition, having an eternal relationship with it in the person of our Lord and Saviour, the Lamb slain for our redemption.

1Pe 1:17-21
(17)  And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
(18)  Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
(19)  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(20)  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

(21)  Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Are you being confronted? ??? A self confrontation? Perhaps invited to participate along with many  and any?

Absolutely not. No matter how committed you are. And sometimes those who have been the most devout end up falling the hardest. It humbles them and reminds them of God’s grace. That has been my experience.

not for flesh :)

Quote
And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes.”

Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”

Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,

Quote

so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

Rev 19:7-8

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”  It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
