This is what he commented: It’s not to criticise Eastern orthodoxy, but to know that it’s not immune to corruption like any man made institution. What would you respond? If the body of people are true Christians, believers in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, then it is not a man made, but a part of the body of Christ. They come to assemble in fellowship in a man made building, called a church, in this case a Serbian Orthodox Church. To find out they're sinners, like you and me, should not be a surprise. The degree of the charges should be severe, really severe, and not a mere slap of the hands. With so many adults being discovered to have been abusing children the last few years, the punishment should equal the crime, and be severe enough to dissuade others. A millstone, a rope, an ocean. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. God is light!!

I'd say they didn't really know Christ, but rather just had a form of religion. A true Christian would be highly convicted over such blatant sins. And actually wouldn't partake in that activity. Of course. But I hope you realize there are some clergy that are Christians in name only. They are not born of the Holy Spirit.

It would be very difficult to restore a reputation when it's hurt. Take Catholic church as an example.

Perhaps they all didn't take their seminary exams themselves but instead paid a company to write their papers for them, and thus they cheated their way through to being ordained. Perhaps it is that without the cheating "they never would have graduated" and have gained access to the opportunity to harm others. 1
