Daniel: 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

What does cleansing of the temple (sanctuary) actually mean?

It means removing those things that will have made it desolate.

There are three things that will make the temple desolate (in chronological order).

1. the Transgression of Desolation act by the Antichrist sitting in the temple

Then added to by:

2. the Abomination of Desolation statue image placed in the temple

Then added to by:

3. the statue image incarnated by Satan.

Those three things are removed the day that Jesus returns. The beast and false prophet cast alive into the lake of fire. The statue image turned to ashes, and Satan cast into the bottomless pit.

The cleansing of the temple happened when Yeshua died and the blood He shed paved the way thru the Veil and into the Holy Place for all of us to enter. Now we are the temple according to the apostles.

All the rituals and shedding of blood in the past were a cleansing rite. Purification. It is over.

The temple was not desolate at that time.

Transgression of desolation and Abomination of desolation, make the temple desolate.   There will be no worship and praise of the One True God going on in the temple at that time.

Read your bible well. Yeshua said it would be destroyed because it had been profaned by empty people doing empty worship and empty sacrifices. Then He died. And rose. The temple is obsolete and not needed anymore for the sacrifices that were done away with. His blood on the Mercy Seat atoned once and for all for all mankind. They do not even NEED to build another temple either, but they seem to want this. To do this to The Lord High God it will be the ultimate insult.

Desolation to an Israeli means something quite different than what we moderns think with our 21st century misunderstanding of things Hebrew.

Okay, let's see what it says about being made desolate (in 70AD), the reason (it is not for what you say).   It is because they rejected Jesus as the messiah.

Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Yes. Agreed. Empty sacrifice to a God they did not recognize, profaning the temple and yes, they rejected Him. He said after three days He will rebuild the temple, yet one not made with human hands.

He is Risen. He told them it IS, but it was not YET. God says what IS, even if it has not appeared before our eyes as a fact. It is Finished. Yeshua told them this, but they could not hear it at the time.
