If you study history, almost from the beginning violence was the mantra of the church.  From the beginning Paul had to defend himself and his purpose. Even years later false leaders in the church tried to invalidate Pau by attacking him and slandering him.

It wasn't long until wars broke out and killing in the name of Christ was common along with burning people at the stake in the name of Christ, and the violence just continued for 100's and hundreds of years. Man got off the path of Godly love and has never learned to love as a culture. The just pretend now until they don't like the color of new carpet laid down in the church, or some other disagreement that causes a church split that everyone thinks is just normal because after all we're a family and families fued once in a while - YA RIGHT

All that's left now is legalism, man making up his own religion , and following rules like the Jews did before Christ came.

Today history repeats itself and no one see's it. The blind follow the blind. So painful to watch.

I'm off my pulpit now. Sad to watch what once a long time ago was Christianity, coming to an end.

Lol;  we all have our pulpits, yours doesn’t sound that bad. :)

I think I understand your sentiment, but we have God’s promises that He will return for a Bride without spot or blemish. And again God will always have a remnant, for He knows those that are His.

But I do think you are right, scholastic learning has overtaken the pulpit as a whole. The simplicity of the Gospel of Christ has been clouded with much human learning of the definition of words.

“The just shall live by faith”

Has been pushed to the side.

Paul’s question;

“one thing I want to know of you, how did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing with faith.”

Has lost it’s power and authority, to what human understanding can grasp.

But rest assured, God is even at work today in all the hearts that are open, and is working to open those that aren’t.

For scripture says;

“my Father is even at work even today”

And so He shall remain till all has been accomplished.

Blessings in Christ, Not me

The focus was taken away from a functioning spiritual body that worked by love into individual salvation whereby everyone went on the defensive about one's take on things...as an individual. So then the gospel went from it's destination towards the inner man...in weakness...to the outer man and it's strength in the natural realm.

The truth then is exchanged for a half-truth...and soon becomes an outright lie.

The cry now is peace and safety. Watch for that.

What matters now is a good sounding message. The truth cannot be tolerated unless all is well. In these times sound doctrine can no longer be "endured." It's like pulling teeth nowadays. So then as soon as things go off the rails...there's no way to correct it. It's like a car with no brakes. Brakes sound negative. No one seems able to take correction anymore. Everyone feels they already have everything. They are rich. No one seems able to look beyond themselves. Sure there is "Christ in you." But at one point this becomes everything which then misses out on "you entering INTO Christ."  To the point where hardly anyone sees the difference.

The one-step salvation doesn't go far enough. Salvation is a race. But a salvation status has replaced the need to take more steps...even negating that we are to enter into Christ.

But we are to run to win! :)

Blessings on "NOT me" and Pekoudah.

Absolutely "BRILLIANT" - Both of you. You took what I posted and went further with it in understanding of the day, and scripture. I am so blessed by you both that there are believers out there that "SEE" and UNDERSTAND. It seems there are so few like you two.

Spread the truth and maybe a "Few" others will "come to the knowledge of the truth and pray without ceasing". Oh my day is so good now . You have truly encouraged me :t2:.

All His blessings and love on you both,

Dave

Yes, the Bible gives us a true understanding of the fallen nature of man. It also show us a great understanding of the repetitive behavior of humans. Today, due to the advancements  given to us in technology, communication and culture changes people do not have a strong foundation and just follow the crowd or next trend. I feel that many have not learned the lessons presented to us in the Bible. Jesus understood it and knew that people in the future would again become more wicked like in His time.

Matthew, 24:37, “As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be when the Son of Man comes.”

Many people do not want to accept the simple gospel message and have to add their own set of rules/legalistic commands to them.  They rather not listen to God and do it the human way with their own effort or distort the gospel message such as prosperity message or new age themes to draw people to their churches.

I love going to church and there are some truly good people there, but it’s disheartening to see hear about those in the congregation who criticize our pastor for reading the word directly from the Bible or complained about things at church that seem insignificant. About 2 weeks ago, we had a women arguing with one of the church escorts inside the church about where she was going to sit! This was done loudly while someone was speaking on the stage.

“Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matt. 11:28-30).

It’s a sad state of affairs, but I know that the Lord is in control of everything and my love for him as well keeps me strong in the faith.

It's not coming to an end. It's just another example of the truth in Christ's teaching that straight is the gate and narrow the way...and few there be that find it. It's not that it's coming to an end, it's that these days there's so much commotion that you have to look pretty hard to find the remnant of the followers of Christ's teaching.

I think of it as a refining process, where the dross has to go to find the pure metal.

Praise God for both of you and the 2 before you. What a fabulously incredible day to meet you 4, and hear such great words of encouragement. All of you bless my life beyond words. Not because you agree with me, but because you  believe in THE TRUTH of God's word and honor it from your heart. So RARE but lovely :t2:.

May God bless you beyond your greatest dreams,

In all Christ's love - Dave

Just an example of the world going towards the dark while the born again Christian world is going toward the light.
