I was wondering if anyone saw a similarity between Donald Trump and John the Baptist (the one in the Bible - not me).

John the Baptist that said this?:

30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

I don’t think so. They are opposites.

Donald regularly acknowledges our Father in heaven in his speeches.

In all honesty, not lately.  If you do however, feel free to list any that you might see. I might find it of some interest.

Do any of them mention Jesus? One does have to be a bit careful - we don't want to turn our government into a theocracy. And this is why: People would fight for power, claiming all the while to be acting on behalf of the Lord.

  • Huh? I don't get it. 1

You do have a point there. I think maybe former president Obama may have mentioned Jesus at least once. A theocracy, eh? You could be right about that too, but it might be a refreshing thought to be 'One Nation Under God'. Once in a while, perhaps.

That is what the resurrection will be.

So where are the similarities between Trump and John the Baptist if one never mentions Him and the other was all about Him?

btw, Trump says he has never ever asked for forgiveness.
