They were free to denounce their Christian faith so they can save their lives, but they didnt. They choose to defend the truth with their lives. They need to let people know the truth so they may all be saved. Lord Jesus knew He would be arrested at Gethsemane garden, He could run away and save His life but He didnt, He choosed to defend the truth with His life so mankind may be saved. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. KJV and if they killed The Lord we should expect no different.... Its a sign of our end times that the News media, worldwide, will discuss transgenders, homosexual rights, anti-gun legislation, the Royal wedding, cars that drive themselves, what Apple products are near to be released, Donald Trump, .........and while all of this is interesting, do you want to know why you have no idea how many Martyrs for Jesus The Christ died today, worldwide.........Why is that? Its because The "world" the world system is anti-Christ. The New Media is Anti-Christ and Anti-Israel. So, the world (News Media) is not going to give you a report on how many true believers laid down their lives TODAY for Jesus, because they want to hide this from you, and especially from unbelievers.... as its such a WITNESS TO THE TRUTH......and Jesus is THE Truth. Knowing the names/dates /times etc of people who have been put to death for refusing to renounce Christ is not my place GOD KNOWS that is all that matters.
