Thank God, salvation is free.   Or where would we all be?   That would be a terrible place to be.

It’s free but it’s not cheap. The Son of God had to go through things he had never experienced before. He laid aside his crown and became one of us to redeem us. At the cost of his life, and the Father placing all of our filth upon him(who knew no sin). He paid the heavy cost for our salvation.

Heb 2:9  But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Heb 2:10  In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.

2Co 5:21  God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Rev 5:9  And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

God gave Christ so that salvation could be free.

Ever heard that phrase, "You think health care is expensive now, just wait until it's 'free'."?

Whenever something is free to one person, somebody else paid for it.

It is free for those who believe. Not free for Jesus.

For those who believe, it is not, let go and let God.

                                     But

Receive and strive as we seek to show our love for Jesus by the way we obey him.

So it's actually not free since Jesus paid a heavy price for it. I'll also add that depending on where in the world you live it may not be free for us. Furthermore, even in America, as you go through life as a Christian, I'm not so sure it's totally free. Once we decide to walk with the Lord we pay for it in many ways.

I'm sure everyone has heard the phrase "There's nothing free but Salvation" and most everyone would say that Salvation is indeed "free", but is it really? It's true that Salvation is indeed free for you and me but that is only because "Jesus Paid it All". You see for Salvation to be free for you and me, Christ had to pay the ultimate price so that it could be. If it were not for Christ's sacrifice there wouldn't be Salvation at any price. So, the next time you think about the free gift of salvation, take a minute to remember why it's free and say a prayer of thanks to the One who made it so.

It's free but it's not cheap
