If a person becomes a Christian because of a tragedy (like seeing someone drown e.g) did God sacrifice a person for that purpose, and is that a bad thing ?

What is the value of a soul?

How do you quantify someones spiritual worth?

Try looking at it this way.

A saved soul has responded to Jesus's sacrifice.

An unsaved soul has rejected every goodthing God has offered them finaly rejecting Jesus and his sacrifice.

A saved soul is worth Jesus. An unsaved soul is worthless.

No, to imply God sacrificed the person is putting the onus of the person dying on God.  It is because of sin that people die, and sinning is not a choice God makes for people.  God can and does use unfortunate circumstances to bring about positive things though.

There's a lot that happens purely out of human action and inaction.

No one becomes a Christian because of a tragedy. People become Christians when they realize they cannot perfect themselves morally, ever, and that Jesus died to forgive them now, utterly transform them later.
