Like even my very own daughter has adopted it, and like I hear it constantly on TV, like with the younger generation. Like I just don't know what school taught them to like, just butcher the English sentence like it or not. Like, does anyone know what I'm talking about, like where's this coming from?

"like, gag me with a spoon!". To me, what's just as aggravating is when people type in "u" for "you". "r" for "are, , and "4" for "for", etc. People have forgotten how to write/talk, or have become just too lazy.

For years, I said "like" in every sentence, several times usually. It wasn't until my dad scolded me several times that it made me consciously aware of it when I spoke. I started correcting myself as I spoke, and eventually broke free of the habit. Like (no pun intended) mother, like daughter -- since now my daughter is doing the same thing when she talks. Anybody notice those?

Anybody notice those? ugh! Unfortunately, yes. With 4 teenage daughters, I've heard all sorts of trends come through the household. I think social media spreads it around so quickly, and in such variety. Some speaking trends are more annoying than others; and we (my husband & I) won't allow the phrases. They are usually harmless words used, such as "bro" or "fam" instead of mom or dad or (sister's or friend's name). I generally say, "I'm not your bro/fam, I'm your mom. If you want to address me correctly, then I'll respond to you." It hasn't corrected the behavior entirely, but time will tell. It's certainly a different generation!

I frequently forget how old I am, the years pass by so quickly, it seems sometimes. Although, I tend to have a forgetful mind at times anyway.
