That is why I caution everyone to stay far away from shrinks. I have been horribly treated by the 'new thought' regarding these psycho things. Take a look at the online publication PSYCHO HERESY.

Most larger churches even have their own shrink departments. They might couch it under a different name, but it is built on this stuff. Just like the state and their 'counselling' services. Not a whit of spiritual understanding of the right sort. Very sad.

This breeds a viscous circle of cause and effect that I can attest to that destroys the family. Oh yes!!

well at least none ofthese people were "shrinks" for my experience. i had two bad therapists as it is in the past.

By the way 'Oh Vey' is a negative thing and detracts from the post. Thought you should know :)

My psychotherapist is a wonderful and a Christian man.  His underling, who saw me once a week, was not a Christian, but he was a wonderful counselor.  He REALLY helped me with my depression and anxiety.  I saw my main psychotherapist once a month.

I haven't seen them in over a  year and probably I can count a few when I should have returned.  All psychotherapy is - is a long term counseling and possibly some medications.

I understand that not all counselors trained in the field are competent and some are dangerous.  I can say the exact same thing for Christian counseling - not all are competent and some are dangerous.

Not all psychotherapists work under Freudian principles and not all Christian "counselors" work under Bible-based helps.

You have to find someone who is competent - in either realm.

You can have Jesus and a therapist, too, you know. [And Prozac and prayer]

Oy vey (Yiddish: אױ װײ‎) or oy vey ist mir is a Yiddish phrase expressing dismay or exasperation.

Rephrasing, it might to us be retranslated as, "Seriously"? "Are you kidding me"?

These are people who think multiple personalities have demons.

Yeah I really summoned Satan because I was trying to get away from being abused or traumatized the way I knew

Hi PreciousPearl,

We are to draw near to God in worship, through His Word and especially in prayer. I would stay away from anyone who judges your spiritual state and tries to dissuade you from praying to our Lord.  He is the ONLY one you can trust and rely on. All peoples Christian and non Christian will let each other down at some point or time, because we are not perfect like our Lord. We each have our own experiences, personalities and emotions that effect the advice given to anyone (I include myself here as well).  Some of my most well meaning advice I've given to family and friends has sometimes not gone over well because I was drawing from what "I" thought whereas God can direct us through prayer.

but is it a sin if you have a non christian validate your facts and not define your reality?

People have their own opinions and insights on situations. Try to make the best of it. Good luck.
