There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today. However, about 2,000 of those languages have fewer than 1,000 speakers. source

Though it is great news, they still have a ways to go.

I saw a device called the Proclaimer that presents the audio version of the New Testament where a lot of the people cannot even read.  My wife and I have contributed to this ministry.  I heard about this ministry on the John Ankerberg Show.
