How can a loving God...?

Recommended Posts

God knows the reasons He does things. We must trust Him. We do not know that the torture or disfigurement of someone in their time might not be the very instrument that saves many at another. The rippling effects from what God allows and permits at a certain moment are on many occasions unseen in ours. All of the great men of faith in the Bible trusted God far beyond what their experiences discerned. And there are times when God sacrifices some for more noble purposes by molding his clay for destruction instead of life. God does whatever He pleases!

I have got so much closer to the lord through sickness, and the sickness of others.

And learned so many lessons too, ones I may not have learned any other way.

I believe totally that God heals, in His way, in His time, as much or as little as He chooses at any given time period. He is there while we wait for His timing.

God has His own reasons for permitted suffering to continue. His reasons are always good.

How can a loving God...?

He can because He "is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,..."  (Ephesians 3:20)

For those of us in Christ, absolutely nothing in this life is allowed to happen to us, even the most terrible tragedies or severest temptations, that our Father has not already lovingly equipped us to handle with the power of the Holy Spirit.  To some, this may sound too simple or naive, too good to be true, but His grace is all-sufficient all of the time.  A blessing will always come when God is ready to reveal it.  Perhaps someone will be drawn to Christ; a lesson that needed to be learned may finally be driven home; chains may be broken; healing may be provided; suffering may be ended; there will aways be a victory for those walking in the Light.  He will always provide a beautiful story of His power over darkness to be shared for His glory.

How can a living GOD?? .........................

This may sound pretty blunt to some here but... God made everything and owns everything, and He doesn't need our permission to do ANYTHING..

Look at the destruction of the entire human race in the flood of Noah's time, or the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, or the walls of Jericho, or caused the Red Sea to engulf the Pharoah and his army....boy God was busy having His way .

God didn't seem to need anyone's permission or approval then.

God is a very narrow minded GOD, and has from before the beginning has had a plan as to how all things will go that matter, and you can decide all day long what God will do or won't do, or what is fair or not fair for God to do, but He isn't interested in any attitude but surrender to HIS over-all plan that He has invited us to take part in.

It's called His "Oikinomia" Greek for His ECONOMY which means "He's in charge and all that has happened He has allowed because it fits into how the END TIME will unfold."

We have a very narrow understanding of HIS_STORY (History), but He not only knows what the end is going to play out like, but He created the end and the time it will happen

Rev 21:4 and god will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There shall be no more death nor sorrow nor crying. There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away.

I often hear this question / complaint from people who (knowingly or not) are placing

themselves on God's throne. "A loving God according to MY standards, MY definitions..."

Dr. James Dobson once said about his son Ryan who had a badly infected foot that had to be drained...

I killed him to see his young son screaming with pain as the Doctor drained the foot... it was so painful that

he (Dr. Dobson) had to help hold Ryan down. And in his son's eyes he could see the look of being betrayed by the

one he loved and trusted most. Dr Dobson was in tears just reflecting back on it. "I'll never forget that look on his

face as if to say 'Daddy, how could you let them do this to me?'"

Ah, but along comes somebody who says this was child abuse.. and they kid would have been better off leaving the infection alone...

Then Dr Dobson would be speaking of his late son.

But by Jiminy, those folks sitting on God's throne know best...

In the Philosophy of Religion literature, it's called SKEPTICAL THEISM.

It's like this:  The existence of a God (who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent) does NOT entail that it would be likely that we would understand all the good reasons for His actions.

Thus, human ignorance of good reasons for God's actions is NOT evidence against the existence of such reasons, thus it's not evidence against the existence of God.

Thus, the SKEPTICAL THEISTIC defense against the problem of evil is resolved.

AND, divine revelation justifies knowledge.  So, Biblical divine revelation justifies the claim that God is good, even if we don't understand all the details.

And we should NOT expect to understand all the details, given Rom.11:33 and Is.55:9.

blessings...

How can a loving God...  rid the world of suffering?   Eliminate all humans.

How can a loving God... stick with His original plan?   He is doing that right now!!

How can a loving God . . . ?

I think it's called tough-love.  God has allowed His free will created children to experience life without His full protection.

Ten million years into eternity, we will remember.  We won't suffer or still mourn, but we will remember.  And we will never again choose to live outside His will.

But if this disaster had never happened, we would never know how much He loves us, or know what He was willing to suffer - for us.
