As a sort of bystander to these discussions, as I have mentioned I have not taken much time over the years to figure any of this out.....

Standing on the outside and viewing these discussions, I can't help but ask myself the question.

With so many well meaning individuals looking into these scriptures and yet arriving at different conclusions?

What is missing?

I see a great deal of confusion.

What is missing?

What is missing?  Deference to the Spirit of truth.

OK--this is where I was going.

The Lord and His Spirit are quite capable of making things clear to His sons.

Right?

So then my friends--how do we know the correct interpretations?

Who has this knowledge?

My best answer...

2 Peter 1:20 (KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Edit: Or I should say the Lord's answer.

All His saints have a piece of the Knowledge, but not the whole counsel of God. No man in his pride could handle this, as it would go to his head. Instead the Truth is divided amongst us that we will come together in Unity of the Spirit, In Humility and fulness.

Right?

You can have clarity with the Light you have been given by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. But the picture is incomplete without others contributing their piece of the Puzzle. this is the fellowship of the saints.

The Patriarchs and Apostles didn't understand much of what they wrote pertaining to prophecy. That continued on downward through the early church fathers and to today. Today we're getting a birds eye view and better understanding seeing it come about.

And yet as I stated before---well intentioned individuals have studied their hearts out and have wildly conflicting views.

This doesn't square up with the point regarding different members have some pieces and are energetic when defending them.

Right?

1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I take this verse to mean or imply; we will not know everything for sure until the Lord reveals it in His timing. But for now, we will only see portions, shadows and glimpses of the whole picture. Just my view. The Lord allowed Paul to reveal a couple of hidden mysteries. The Lord did not allow Paul to reveal what he seen and heard in Heaven. It will remain somewhat hidden util the Lord's perfect timing IMHO.
