No place in the New Covenant does it say God will leave or forsake us. Matthew 28:18–20 (AV) 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: This is the key to have him with you always. The same was with the OT saints. I don't think God ever forsaken anybody that truly serve him in the OT or NT. He grant them both a resurrection. The law was a school master to Christ, a reflection of the true sun. Now that we have the Son we no longer need the lesser light, we come to the only true light.
