There is no "one-step" process in learning to let go. In a nutshell, be honest. Be consciously honest and surrender to it. Be calm and soft in your honesty, and surrender to it. In your consciousness of honesty you will 'know', regardless how small, what is true. Surrender to that bit you know is true. As you let go of all your dishonesty (anger, guilt, etc), honesty replaces it. Truth, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth will merge with your honesty. When it does, it will 'touch' your soul, your heart, most warmly, 'knowingly', reassuringly, doubtlessly, fearlessly. and lovingly. All of which will be unconditionally. Truth merged with your soul will lead you truthfully. This is the way, the truth, and the life. By "relinquishing" all authority in your life to the authority of the Holy Spirit. God told Moses to built a Tabernacle "exactly" like the model shown to him in Heaven, ...for God to "dwell" in, ...God gave the "precise" and "exact" plans to David for the Temple and his son Solomon built a Temple for God to "dwell" in..., My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Psa 139:15 "Curiously wrought" is better understood as "knit," ...that's saying Jesus "knit" you "exactly" as He wanted you to be for a Temple for God the Holy Spirit to "dwell" in 1 Cor 3:16, So if Jesus is the Master Architect and the Holy Spirit the Master Builder, and His job is to conform you into the image of Jesus by the process of metamorphosis then you certainly can see the necessity of relinquishing your authority of/in the building project and let Him have His way. Blessings from above, On Sunday our Pastor preached on bitterness. The Spirit spoke to my own heart showing me the bitterness I was holding against someone. I was in denial, thinking I had forgiven this person. My heart was convicted. I immediately prayed to our Lord in confession and asking for His healing and forgiveness. I can tell you today, (2 days later) that the Lord has brought me such peace and healing from that moment on. The weight I didn't know I was carrying is gone! So my answer would be just to take it to the Lord. Ephesians 4: 31-32, "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
