A little boy and his father were in a building in London watching a parade through the window. The British soldiers were dressed in brilliant red coats. The little boy exclaimed, “What beautiful white uniforms they have!” The father said, “Son, they are not white; they are red, brilliant red.” “Oh, no,” said the little boy, “they are white, just as white as snow.”

With surprise the father looked more closely. Around the window was a border of red glass, which he had not noticed before. As you know, when one looks at something red through a red glass it looks perfectly white. And the little boy, looking at the scarlet coats through the red glass, saw them as pure white.

We who have come for refuge and forgiveness to Jesus are covered by the blood of the cross; and when God looks at our sins, He looks at them through the blood, and we are perfectly white.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.   (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Likewise—-The Tablets Of The Law are in the Heavenly Arc ....hidden away and covered by the Mercy Seat....That Mercy Seat is covered by the Precious Blood Of Christ......God doesn’t view the Law now, without first having to see the Blood......That is a thing that works out very well for us Believers....

Yes, and the Mercy Seat is on top of the Law. "Mercy Triumphs over judgement."

Yes.....Jesus technically did not go by the Letter of the Law when the woman  caught in the act of Adultery was set free to go by Him.....According to the Law......she SHOULD have been stoned.....Mercy trumps law and Jesus  proved  it.......to the dismay of Legalists everywhere.....

Seems that the Pharisee in people make them angry and defensive---even 2000 years later; the Pharisees wanted to kill Jesus; but those sinners who were humble and contrite received mercy---who knew what they deserved, but were spared.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Then there was Peter:

Luke 5:8-11 (NIV)
8  When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"
9  For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,
10  and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men."
11  So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

I agree with your conclusion, but actually they did not follow the law completely in order to accuse this woman. He knew that, but instead of arguing He wrote on the dust of those temple approaches... TWICE. Thus indicating He wrote TWICE on tablets of stone way back in Moses' time. Since He gave the law, He could also acquit.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.  John 1:14

While Grace is first mentioned in Genesis 6:8:

But Noah found Grace in the eyes of the LORD.

It's the fundamental characteristic of God, ...His Grace was exhibited in the life of Adam when He made coats of animal skins, rather that killing them.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Gen 2:17

So many think they "know" God through the Law, ...when actually, to "know" God, is to "know" His Grace in our lives!

They completely miss the point the Law was given to us to know who "we" are...

Lord bless
