I hope that’s not true. I have one recent example.

I received  $500 out of nowhere on a day that I was stressing out over bills(we had some unexpected expenses). After getting the cash, I had a very intense feeling something was going to happen and told my husband and daughter. A few hours later my son walks in the room screaming that he swallowed a quarter. We ended up having to rush him to the emergency room to have it removed. Costs us $3600 out of pocket(the insurance paid $9000).

That is just one of  many examples. It sounds silly but every single time I get the bad feeling, something happens. Sometimes something very serious happens.

I can also tell when a quarterback is about to throw an interception. It scares my husband every time. I’m getting scared just writing this now Lol

I swallowed a quarter when I was about eight....   we just checked the toilet for the next few days and three days later it came out all by itself....   I guess we saved a lot of money.   BTW that was a bit over 60 years ago.

Over the years I've just learned to take things as they come....    good or bad....     My wife has M. S. so we go through good and bad all the time...     I refuse to worry myself about it or you will not enjoy the good things by worrying about the bad.

I know as Christians  we should not be superstitious, but I was wondering if all superstitions were  inherently evil?

There  is one superstition all the women in my family have, and it has rubbed off on me. Whenever something really good happens to me, I start bracing myself  for something terrible to occur.

whenever something really good  happens to me, I get an instant and  very intense feeling that something really bad is about  to happen, and usually it does- sometimes the very next day.  Is this a sinful superstition, to always be worried about something bad happening when something good happens? Or do you think that God actually brings good into our lives to brace us or prepare us for something bad that may be coming down the pike?

Life has it's ups and downs, but I don't think "God actually brings good into our lives to brace us or prepare us for something bad that may be coming down the pike?"

You were lucky it went into your stomach. The quarter got caught in his throat and wouldn't move. He thought he was going to die.IMG_0403.PNG.3f5e7c49e05e5fd689562e464ea4249a.PNG

It wasn’t going anywhere. It was stuck  in his throat and he was in pain and coughing and screaming.

Never ever a dull moment with my boys.

The doctor  went in and got it out with a scope. Took twenty minutes to get it out and that was 12 grand. We hear a lot about the insurance companies ripping people off in this country, but these hospitals seem suspect to me as well.

we spend a bit more for insurance but we have no deductibles or co-pays on anything...   so if the insurance is ripping anyone off it's the doctors and hospitals and not us.   There are so many different insurance policies that one can't keep up with all of them.

At the heart of superstition is the distrust of God.

The point of the Law is essentially there is no other way

other than God's way to accomplish all things.

Any other way we subscribe to by superstition or

efforts (works) we try to add to the things of God

only screws up what could have been great blessings!

Knock on wood...

actually a pagan Druid ritual.

Btw, Roman Catholicism appeasing the Druids

is where Christmas trees came from.

Swearing by something is another superstition.
