A methodist church in california put up a nativity with joseph mary and baby Jesus in separate cages. It is a political statement about the way they perceive what is happening to illegals. So they trashed the birth of Christ.

Your thoughts?

Our city has experienced so many nativity thefts over the years, this would seem one way of keeping the figures from being stolen. With so much controversy surrounding the United Methodist Church, this comes as no real surprise. Not in California, anyway. It is extremely brazen, however.

Both churches I have been attending recently are clearly moving in this direction although in less obvious ways. They are talking up anti-racism rhetoric, promoting multiculturalism and otherwise denigrating any social setting which consists primarily of people of European ancestry. The lead pastor in the morning church is constantly talking up how wonderful people from "other cultures" are.

I oppose racism, but a realistic and honest discussion of crime, illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking are now being re-defined as "racist." It's a crazy world we live in.

Many of the local churches are also promoting alpha courses. These courses are subversive and political as well, slowly introducing liberal and even anti-christian communist politics through the back door.

The thing you have to realize is that at least 90% of people who attend churches are sadly really really really dumb. This is why there are so many multi-millionaire pastors. Most christians are easy prey, coughing up money to scammers at an astronomical rate.

Get ready for more of this as we descend into the abyss and total collapse.

Thats not why they did it. The church specifically states it was to show the treatment of illegals, as far as they perceive it.

I wonder if that church will put up a display depicting Jesus being murdered by the Jews.

Yes, I know. The reason things such as racial standpoints, or anti-racist occurrences in California are of little surprise to me anymore. Here's my take on it. I think the ordeal was a tremendous travesty. This blatant yuletide portrial is totally ludicrous.

Well, I certainly hope not. That would be a horrible anti-Semitic thing to occur. A man is suing the synagogue in Poway near San Diego from the tragic shooting occurrence some time back in April. I know this is off-topic, but it really is an unfortunate situation.

Shooting survivor sues Southern California synagogue

A man wounded in a shooting at a San Diego-area synagogue is suing the house of worship

A man wounded in a shooting at a San Diego-area synagogue is suing the house of worship, alleging Chabad of Poway didn't use federal funds meant to hire security to protect worshipers, according to a newspaper report.

In the lawsuit obtained by Los Angeles Times, Almog Peretz claims the synagogue did not have proper security despite a rise in anti-Semitic attacks nationally and that it did not use a $150,000 grant to upgrade safety measures.

Officials at Chabad of Poway did not immediately respond to a request from the Times seeking comment on the lawsuit.

Prosecutors have charged John Timothy Earnest with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder in the April 27 attack at Chabad of Poway.

According to court documents, Earnest — 19 at the time — walked into the synagogue on the last day of Passover, a Jewish holiday, and opened fire. Surveillance video of the lobby of the Chabad shows a man firing an assault-style rifle from just outside the front door, hitting Lori Gilbert-Kaye, 60, as she turned to run. She died at the doors to the sanctuary after being shot twice, according to a San Diego County deputy medical examiner.

Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein was the next person shot. Goldstein was wounded in both hands and lost the index finger on his right hand in the shooting.

San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Leonard Trinh said Earnest then turned toward a room where several people, including children, were inside and fired his weapon. Among those in the room were Peretz, 34, who was shot in the leg, and his 8-year-old niece, Noya Dahan, who was struck in her face and leg by bullet fragments.

In filing the lawsuit, Peretz said the synagogue breached its “duty of reasonable care” in protecting congregants, the Times said in its story Friday.

Chabad of Poway received $150,000 from the government in March because the synagogue “believed that it was at risk of an anti-Semitic attack on its congregants,” according to the suit. But on the day of the attack, court documents show, the building’s doors were unlocked and no guards, gates or other security measures were in place.

Peretz’s attorney, Yoni Weinberg, said his client may be perceived negatively for including the synagogue in the lawsuit, but he said it’s important to name everyone who may be at fault in the fatal attack.

“If we were only to have John Earnest in the lawsuit, changes would never get made,” Weinberg said. “Hopefully this pressure … influences them to make a change to protect their congregants and it influences other synagogues as well.”

Is a creche nativity scene in lit up plastics or wood or plaster an accurate portrayal of events? Even if a person thinks that it is, is one something to be worshipped?  Do Christians make idols of wood, plaster and plastic?

That a group, even a "liberal" professing Christian one, might have compassion for the plight of aliens in the land, is that so horrible? I can live with it personally. The depiction though silly it may be, might also give some pause to reflect on the sad state of affairs  that has resulted in the terribly horrific plight of some, that many endure even  at this joyous season.

May God have mercy. May His grace be extended to many even now, may many hear the word, heed it and be turned about to Jesus as Lord God and savior during this time of joy.

Note:  on another thread is a depiction of men at war leaving their entrenchments to sing Christmas songs together instead of shooting each other. Might be nice to have such a scene including barbwire made by men, all lit up in plastic today as reminder to be kind one to another in the name of our Lord and savior joining in worship of Him, together, wherever we might be, and from whatever lands we come, dressed in whatever skin God has given each of us.

May we come together and let no one separate us from love of one another under the grace and mercy extended to each of us from God alone without there being any merit of our own to justify  that mercy extended from God by our Lord and savior.
