I have read several books that pretty much are convincing that Jesus was born on September 11, 3BCE....

I’m the type that keeps the tree up until it falls apart in the Spring. I’m struggling to not get upset about the long Christmas lists my kids give me. I have no idea how this got so out of control to where they feel offended if they don’t get what they want. It doesn’t feel like a holiday that Christians have set aside to remember Christ’s birth. It’s just overwhelming greed that I never thought would happen in my household. I keep telling myself next year will be different but it never happens. I don't put up a tree or decorate the house for Christmas. I used to when the kids were young.

I've slowly shopped and have under the tree filled up with gifts which will slowly start being delivered the end of this week. I'll spend Christmas day alone so all of the gifts will be delivered or opened the week leading up to Christmas with the final ones being opened by my adopted nieces and their mom who will spend Christmas Eve with me. I'm enjoying Hallmark and the abundance of false reality movies that make my heart go AWWW So, yep, enjoying my Christmas season as best I can. Are you all enjoying your Christmas season? I put the tree up last weekend and did the lights. Bought a few gifts but not much this year. Bake some cookies. So what have you all been up too? I am trying hard this year to engage. Did so at Thanks Giving time too. There are harsh memories associated with this time of year that come at me as flashbacks and also tend to destroy any good sleep time. I won't go into depth about them. But this year I am forcing myself to participate and try to enjoy the season. So far I think I might be making some good progress. Fact I know I am. So Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! My cousin was killed in 1995 a week before Christmas. We had the funeral on a Friday and Monday was Christmas. Every Christmas I am reminded of that and the Holiday has never been the same. But yes. We must go on and try to take any little bit of joy where we can find it. Merry Christmas my friend.

How do we celebrate the birth of Christ on the designated day [Since we don't know the exact day]? Gathering together as Christians as singing wonderful songs about his birth, gathering together with families and celebrating his birth by reading of it from the Bible, The incredible and lengthy story of his birth is recorded in two gospels. It's a wondrous story. Why should we not celebrate it? Are you a JW?
