Years ago, there was a book published that Jesus Christ was to return in Sept 1988.  What Happened?? LOL  The Jehovah Witnesses spoke of the end of the world in 1974/5 (I can't remember the exact time due to it was spoken years ago)  I have seen this "end of the world and the return of Jesus Christ" stuff over the years since 1970 when I started to follow the Lord (disciple of the Messiah).  Every generation of Christians have an "antichrist."  Martin Luther, John Calvin, Cotton Mather, William Tyndale, and a long list of other Protestants have considered the office of the papacy to be the Antichrist in their generation.  Some said Nero Caesar, some Hitler, even some said Napoleon.  During the 1970s and early 1980s, the Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger,  for the Nixon and Ford Administrations topped the “Most Likely to Be the Antichrist” lists. Also, in the 1970's the Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev, with a "birthmark on his forehead" showed that he had the "mark of the beast."  Almost every present since George Washington has been labeled as the "Antichrist."  Remember that Obama was the Antichrist and now it is Trump. 

We, with our "western minds" look at the Jewish writings (Old and New Testament) and apply our understandings. As Gentiles, we miss what is really being said a lot of the times... for example when you see "coming in clouds, or "sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:..." (Matt 24:29) What do you think with your "western mind"?  As a Hebrew (Jew) he/she sees this as judgement language. If you study the synoptic gospels Matthew 24 (Mark 13:1-33; Luke 17:20-37 & Luke 21:5-36) this is all about the "destruction of the Nation of Israel, the temple and even the Jewish genealogies."  There is not a Jew today that can tell you from what tribe they come from due to the fact that the Messiah destroyed them in 70 A.D.  According to Josephus, the Jewish Historian, 1,100,000 Jews (even women and children) were destroyed and many thousands taken captivity as slaves by the Roman Army.  (Christ 'coming in clouds" Greek, "parousia." means His presence.)

Years ago, I was a Naval spy and we intercepted Morse code messages from the Russians and Chinese.  Many of their messages were in binary form. I liked the binary form as it was very easy for me to copy in Morse code.  The Russian Navy had some of the fastest code senders in the world.  I could copy Morse at 55wpm.  dit da dit?? or da dit da da da?
